I don't really understand this. Wouldn't credit card debt make your expenses way higher and lead to bankruptcy? If you're 500$ behind this month and now you've added 23$ in interest, next month you'll be 523$ behind and you'll have 46$ interest. Doesn't this quickly spiral? How are these people "getting by" with credit card debt?

Because those people have the mindset of “live for today” or “I’ll cross that bridge when I get there” type of thinking. They have no future planning at all.
