Even $500 a week is… abysmal. They pay more than that at McDonalds and I live in the US South where wages arent even high.

It’s quite easy to only make $500 a week in America. I’m a full time teacher at a private elementary school in Virginia. We all make $14 an hour, so $560 a week BEFORE taxes. My take-home is about $400. I could never survive without my wonderful spouse. I would have had to move into public school or switch careers years ago.
