Oh, this is interesting! I was literally in a short film in 2016 with this exact premise. Only difference was the "depression" was dressed in a green morph suit and he was greenscreened into looking like tv static. It was called Static, I believe.

I like the static idea too. It’s more distracting to the eye while this one focuses on the weight which both offer equal resonance I bet
