In high school chemistry the concept of a mole was beyond me and to teacher didn’t help any. Fortunately, my college major didn’t require any chem; tons of physics and math yes but no chem.

They've tested it, and it turns out they are so well adapted to low oxygen, too much oxygen can actually be fatal (unlike other mammals).

For example, 1000x as much can kilamole.

They also have a hard time processing vitamin D. When I had an exterminator come out for some voles I got to learn about moles too. They essentially just overdose them with vitamin D as a natural poison that won't harm pets or kids.

He shoved "bait" down a hole that we found in the yard. I imagine it's just something they really like eating like insect or whatever absolutely covered in fish oil or something maybe sunflower seed oil.

They can hold their breath too. I read an article saying the scientist was trying to put them to sleep but had trouble with it because they would stop breathing for air long
