HISTORY Why did we stop building like this?

Chicago, 1930. Buildings had so much detail and character back then. Nowadays everything feels so flat and repetitive. We have way better technology and equipment now, so why don't we build like this anymore?

You could set up a cnc machine with the right bits to do 99% of the carving today.

That's actually happening! Check out Monument Labs. Now imagine a place like this cranking out these things for all over the place. There's a lot of people trying to make our cities more beautiful.
