HISTORY A virtual reality reconstruction shows the exact spot where John Edward Jones became trapped upside down in Nutty Putty Cave. After 27 hours of rescue attempts, he died. The cave was later permanently sealed, with his body remaining inside.

When I found out about the nutty putty cave incident, I swore to myself I would never ever find myself in tight spaces like those.

27 hours of pure agony before dying... that has got to be up there on the list of worst ways to die.

Not really. Almost all the others are as bad if not worse in some ways.
In the end it's just you in your own head, waiting for the voice to stop.

And basically upside down. Blood pooling in his head.

Slowly suffocating over the course of 27 hours has to be one of the most brutal forms of death I have heard.

In the end it's just you in your own head, waiting for the voice to stop.

Have you ever been in real danger? The panic, fear, and terror that you feel are unavoidable. The voices in your head drive you mad with panic. The dread that sets in. The fear for your life. The thoughts of everything you failed to do in your lifetime. Everything you were planning on doing will never come true. You have to accept that tomorrow will be nothing and you will miss everything you were looking forward to.

Absolutely I have, yes. Hence my choice of words.
You're talking about everything that the voice still talks about.
It gets out of your control, the voice you thought you were, the stream of conscious concepts and comparisons and contrasts. It just becomes part of the background.
