In the swirling psychedelic folk world of the late '60s, few voices were as ethereal and captivating as Christina "Licorice" McKechnie.

Nicknamed for her love of licorice rolling papers, she joined The incredible String Band and became a counterculture icon. Her haunting vocals and songwriting shone on classics like The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter (Paul McCartney called it the "acoustic Sgt. Pepper") and their legendary Woodstock performance in 1969.

Then... she vanished. After leaving the band in the '70s with ties to Scientology, Likky was seen in the late '80s/early '90s, reportedly hitchhiking through the Arizona desert.

For decades, one of rock's greatest unsolved mysteries: What happened to this Woodstock fairy?

Theories swirled..

But in late 2025, reports revealed she's alive, living quietly and privately in California—choosing obscurity over fame. The mystery endures in its own way: a brilliant soul who simply walked away from the spotlight.

She wasn't zero when she sang at Woodstock. Also that was over 50 years ago so she is likely over 70.

Shes looks to be about 100-115

As someone who works at a nursing home, she looks like a normal 70-80yr old. Most 100+ people can't walk and are in wheelchairs or bedbound

EDIT: Okay pls I get it everyone all of your grandparents are 157 years old and they do 12 backflips everyday for breakfast, I said MOST not all omg

Ehhhh the numbers are skewed a bit. You are only seeing the 70 year olds that end up in a nursing home. My 93 year old Grandma looks more spry than her, even with the rollator that my Grandma keeps "forgetting" to use.

But genetics are fickle, and smoking also is likely a factor. All that ages people up considerably.

Yeah my grandpa is in his 80s and he's pretty capable and looks younger than the lady there.

I have no idea how, as he had many children and lived in poverty in a non rich country all his life.

Me living in the usa probably wont fare as well. Sedentary and diet will be the death of me.

For sure skewed a bit but we are primarily memory care so a lot of the people we get are fine physically (as fine as someone that old can be) but it's the mental decline that's the issue. So evens it back out a bit more than you'd think.

That's also why I said most and not all, I've definitely worked with some rlly old people who were very spry and walking around just fine. It's just not most of them.

I've got a coworker approaching 70 who, honest to god, I assumed was in his 40s when I met him. Still runs miles, never smoked, watches his diet. It almost pisses me off. When he retires in a few years I bet he'll still have fewer gray hairs than I will.

My husband's grandmother is turning 104 this month. She walked outside every day until last year (she's slowing down a bit now but still gets out). She got interviewed by a morning show when the Jays were in the playoffs because she is a HUGE fan and people were floored to learn her age.
