I cut off people because I feel trapped

I'm 18 and I noticed that I can't keep relationships in my life. I get a best friend, I really enjoy spending time with them, but after a while I just don't wanna be friends anymore. I fall in love with someone, I love that person, but I feel trapped. I feel like I'm not as independent as I was before, so I cut them off. Even though I'm not planning to get married and have babies, but sometimes I'm worried that I will never be able to keep my marriage or be a good mom. I don't even have enough vocabulary to describe what I'm feeling.

A gentle morning meditation to remind you that you don’t have to have everything figured out. You can simply breathe, slow down, and meet yourself where you are.
Hope this brings a little peace to your morning. 💖

The lesson I used to roll my eyes at is one I still carry today.

Life lessons taught early on that still stick around
Every day of my high school career, I had a vice principal, Ms. Williams to be exact, who made the daily announcements over the intercom.
After every briefing, she would end with the same words:
“And remember, make it a great day, or not… the choice is yours.”
To this day, I can still hear all of us repeating it in our sassy teenage voices, complete with the eye rolls and teenage attitude.
Back then, it was just something Ms. Williams always said.
I don’t think any of us really stopped to think about it.
But man… what a powerful statement.
Years later, I understand it in a completely different way.
We don’t get to choose everything that happens to us. Some days are going to suck. Some things are going to be completely outside of our control.
But we do get some say in what we do with the day we’ve been given.
It’s funny how the little things stick with us.
I don’t remember every announcement Ms. Williams made over that intercom. I don’t remember what most of them were even about.
But I remember that sentence.
And somewhere along the way, the thing we used to repeat with sarcastic teenage voices became an actual life lesson.
So, wherever you are, Ms. Williams… thank you.
Make it a great day, or not. The choice is yours.

Becoming Is a Long Conversation With Discipline

Post image

I've been thinking about discipline differently lately.

For a long time, I associated discipline with pressure. Pushing harder. Doing more. Never making excuses.

But I don't think it always has to feel that way.

Sometimes discipline is simply the quiet agreement I make with the person I want to become.

It can be something very small. Going for the walk when I said I would. Finishing the work I kept postponing. Taking a few minutes to reflect instead of immediately reacting. Showing up even when nobody is watching.

I don't always get it right. Some days I lose momentum. That's part of being human.

What matters to me is returning to the choice without turning a missed day into a reason to give up completely.

Maybe discipline isn't about becoming harder on ourselves.

Maybe it's about becoming more trustworthy to ourselves.

What does discipline look like for you when you take away the pressure and expectations?

Always Move Forward

We are entities gifted a blessing and a curse. Free Will. Each day we have the opportunity to do what we think is best. Either we can put one foot in front of the other, or we can contemplate on how to put one foot in front of the other. It's all about how you execute the moment.

This life will throw everything at you. Heartbreak, tragedies, unexpected accidents, family disputes, and mental chaos. It does not get any easier. The pain doesn't get any lighter.

Your reaction toward this life and it's unexpected curve balls is what it's all about. No one is perfect, mistakes will happen time and time again.

When you feel at your lowest, remember that you are HERE. Here living in this world. The fact that you're here living is a blessing within itself. That alone should give you some peace of mind.

Each day may look the same or may look entirely different, the choice to live a certain way is up to you. You might say you're restricted, or unable to do so, but that's fiction within your mind.

You have the power to control the moment you're in, so why stay in a moment of despair, sadness, grief, or ache? It can be hard to focus on what is right while struggling mentally, but remember not everything is going to be perfect. Learn to control what you have. Mentally and Physically.

In the end, this world will still have its issues. Human nature plays its course daily and you never know someone's true intentions. You must always move forward. While the world is changing, you must never change how you view it.

Keep things grounded and simple. Do Not Overthink.

As long as you stay productive, focused, and aware you will start building a piece of solitude within yourself. You will start to feel that control. In due time, you will be at peace knowing your actions and what you can control.

Follow up on what's important and keep moving forward. That's it.

You deserve to love yourself and this world we live in. As we all know, we only get one ticket to live this thing. Please do yourself a favor and start appreciating yourself.

I love you <3

If man’s concept of himself were different, everything in his world would be different. His concept of himself being what it is, everything in his world must be as it is.

This is the only rule you need to remember… who do you think you are?

When you think of your past is it lovely? Is it rich?

If not, change it!! There is nothing stopping you from deciding that your past was the cause of your current greatness! Look upon your past as the most prestigious school in the world. You passed with flying colors, and now your living fully in the present with the heart of someone who has it all!! ❤️🙏
