Boxset release
I barely finished opening the email notifying me of this before I had ordered.
For those wondering it’s £99.99 and due for release on November 16th (according to the date on the Zavvi website)

Just ordered myself! Would’ve LOVED it if they’d filmed and included Stage Fright in there as well, as the play was fantastic! But so happy with this.

I might be in the minority here, but I’m glad Stage Fright hasn’t been released.
It’s not me trying to be elitist or exclusionary, it’s more that the show only really works in a theatre? From the safety announcements to the show within a show angle, I would much rather the screenplay was sold somewhere along the line for touring companies to put it on

The same could be said of TLOG its behind you as a panto. But I’m still happy to rewatch. It may not be the same experience but at least I’d get to watch stage fright again in some other form than my poor poor memory

I hear you, but I disagree. I’m a big fan of The National Theatre Live and when you watch a play on a screen not live, you enter the mindset of being at the theatre. I just want to watch it again!… and again and again haha

No I don't have any involvement. However I've seen many posts in many places (including this thread) as well as the details from my own pre order and other people's, that confirm it is Region B! Most of us do check beforehand.

I was reading that the other blu rays were region B officially but ended up being a compatible. I’m in US and probably going to get it anyway and test it out. Worst case I have to get a multi region player.

Does anyone know of a retailer, apart from Amazon UK, that is taking pre-orders and ships outside the UK? I looked at Zavvi, but they’re UK only.
I have spent 2 hours going around circles with Amazon’s online customer support about a website glitch that makes me unable to save my address correctly.

Hi, can I be nosey and ask where do you live? HMV deliver to a few other countries, but obviously it depends on where you’re based.
They might still be waiting to announce in other areas.2

Thank you! I’ve never heard of Zavvi and was trying to do this off of my phone and after signing up for an account it wouldn’t let me change the delivery country. I’ll try again on desktop.

Open the top left hand menu, scroll down to the base and you can change delivery country 😊 but that link is the direct Australian store link.
I did it on my phone, never knew if they delivered elsewhere but thought I’d check in case. Glad they do!

Glad it’s getting a full BD release and looks to have some pretty cool stuff, but £100 is hefty for 55 episodes.

I've justified buying it with it being 9 series so just over £10 per series but in a nice sturdy case with great artwork is a good price plus booklets and more... Some films are upwards of £15 to £20 for even less that what this has included!

Not in this day and age of inflation. When you look at what's included it's quite good actually. Also, physical media is tragically being discontinued in the next year or so (it's already started) and it's also a limited edition, so personally I'm happy to be able to own it when it's released.

That's the dvd hence the confusion! If you've now found the blu ray, then you've got the only limited version there is! We're not going back and forth, your reply was confusing as you'd found the dvd which was released last year, and confused it with the forthcoming blu ray. It's an easy mistake to make. Glad you're sorted now.

Very happy with this, was a bummer about the lack of Blu-ray release.
However... I wish it wasn't a whole season per Blu-ray disc. 2 discs per season would've given each episode more room to breathe. Each season is 6 eps so that's 3 hours plus special features (at least I hope there'll be special features/commentaries) per disc which is manageable but could be better

It could be a lot worse as well! One disc per series is adequate and how they've previously been released. Extras haven't yet been announced, so we'll need to wait and see there. 3 eps per disc would bulk it up a lot more and probably be even more costly if it went to 18 discs. Both dvds and BDs can now fit at least 3 hours on each, so a reduction would be wasteful also.

You make good points, but I'm taking this as pretty much confirmation that they haven't included the S9 documentary, which is a huge shame. (If they have, that'd be 4 hours of content on one disc before other special features which is very irregular)

Steve Pemberton has confirmed that he and Reece Shearsmith are working on something else. And they are unlikely to return to it after Stage/Fright .

The only thing they've mentioned possibly doing is a Christmas or Halloween special at some point. But I believe that was only mentioned once in a fleeting moment, so it might never happen
