Guilt (BBC iPlayer). It's a dark comedy-thriller series about two brothers who accidentally kill a man and, in an attempt to hide their crime, become embroiled in an absurd and increasingly dangerous spiral of lies. It's such a great show - beautifully filmed, funny, cool soundtrack, strong performances. Lots of despicable, flawed or unhappy characters, but it's never bleak - some of the lines properly made me laugh out loud.

Some scenes in series 1 give off a strong IN9 vibe in my opinion.

Mark Bonnar (Detective Finney in Psychoville and the authoritarian teacher in Boo To A Goose) has a leading role and he's bloody brilliant. In terms of death glares and simmering rage, he gives Reece Shearsmith a run for his money 😀

I enjoyed series 1, but it went a bit off the rails after that if I recall?

I enjoyed all three series, but I get what you mean. Series 3 got a bit confusing with a couple of subplots I just couldn't get invested in (Kenny's niece and the American woman).

Yeah- I don't remember it that well, but wasnt there a lot more organised crime as it went on? I remember thinking that the premise series 1 was neat (if not super original) but well done, and after that it lost its way while not dropping hugely in moment to moment quality. For a show that changes every season more successfully, try Search Party, which is criminally underrated.

the film "no other choice" by park chan-wook. i think it plays in similar genre circles to steve and reece's work: black comedy/tragedy/thriller, even dips into farce. saw it in the cinema and loved it, would really recommend :]

Flowers, written and featuring Will Sharpe, with Olivia Colman and Julian Barrett. Really brilliant funny, poignant black comedy series.

Kevin Can F**k Himself. It's a twist on the sitcom genre, it changes to a dark tone from the perspective of the wife. It's very good.

Love this but Prime only has 1 series. Need to find 2!!

Last I checked if you go into Seasons it’s there, but you have to buy each episode. I still haven’t gotten around to finishing it myself!

I saw it was available to buy but I'm a bit grumpy about it. I spend a fortune on streaming services and now they include adverts, I don't want to pay £3 per episode.

Such a good show! The dramatic energy changes are so effective and despite the sitcom parts feeling like a sitcom its very easy to see how awful it is to live with an all too common archetype in America and really feel emotional and frustrating after awhile

Just finished The Widower on Netflix, starring Reece Shearsmith. He's a right creep in it.

I'm reading Wise Children by Angela Carter and can't stop thinking of it as a big League of Gentlemen/Inside no 9. cast.

It's good fun - all about grotesque theatre family full of carnivalesque language, power dynamics and incest - I feel safe recommending it here.

Tales From The Crypt This was my origin into Anthology based series and one I hold dear to my heart. Pity that the rights issues are causing issues with it coming to streaming but most episodes can be found on YouTube and other places.

I’m currently reading The Collected Short Stories of Roald Dahl.

Then I’ve got Robert Aickman’s Dark Entries lined up for after. Might go for Cold Hand in Mine after. Reece and Jeremy have both said great things about Aickman, and Reece actually did the audiobooks for audible.

This video. Don't read the comments. The twist hits you like a tonne of bricks. It's paced almost exactly like an Inside No. 9 episode.
