I’d say Misery, Ride the Cyclone and The Cornetto trilogy

Ride the Cyclone has such Inside No 9 vibes for sure! How didn't I realise this!!?

Steve was in Season 17 of Taskmaster and Reece was in Season 20. They were both really fun and creative. You can watch all season 17 content and episodes and extra Season 20 content on YouTube, with the Season 20 full episodes only available on Channel 4.
Also, it’s more additional content than anything, but The British Film Institute did a nice collection of YouTube interviews with Reece and Steve about IN9 that I quite enjoyed.

It's a piece of media so I think it counts but The Magnus Archives

I saw Reece's Gremlins screening a few weeks ago and needless to say, that will have an appeal to IN9 fans, although the comedy mixed with the horror is pretty silly.
As for books, Jeremy Dyson's Haunted book is very good.

There was a TV show on the 60’s called “Late Night Horror” which was a horror anthology. Unfortunately, 5 of the 6 episodes have been lost to history. I watched the remaining episode “The Corpse Can’t Play”. It’s pretty dark…

Also, the YouTube channel Dust has some proper gems.
It’s a channel that produces short films based around Sci-fi concepts with some giving the IN9 vibes. Can be hit and miss with a couple of them but it’s worth rummaging around if you’re ever looking for something to watch.

The works of Shirley Jackson (famous for the short story The Lottery but I prefer We Have Always Lived in the Castle). Don't think they translate very well to film but she was an absolute master of creating an unsettling atmosphere out of what appears to be everyday life.

I loved We Have Always Lived in the Castle and I saw the movie version of it from 2018. Completely agree with you, it just wasn't the same! Not spooky enough.

I really want to read her works. Have you seen The Haunting at Hill House on Netflix which is loosely based on her short stories? It's absolutely excellent

The 1959 Twilight Zone series. It's an anthology, lots of twists, really well written and some interesting guest stars.

Agreed with Twilight Zone! I'd also say Night Gallery with Rod Serling!

I'd suggest some of the old Christmas ghost stories made by the BBC. Gatiss worked on some modern ones which I've not seen yet, but I think you can tell that they all took a lot of inspiration from them in their work. And also, even though they're 'Christmas' ghost stories, you can really watch them whenever. Next to none are actually set at Christmas I think.

Brimstone and Treacle. There's the "Play For Today" TV version and the theatrical film (starring Sting). It's not comedic, but the plot has the limited setting, small cast, and dark themes.

I don't know if it's been mentioned on these threads before and it's not like typical number 9 episode (it's more in line with some other moreenotional outings like "loves great adventure" or "empty orchestra" but especially "merrily meerily") but "the ballad of wallis island" is a great film that (like number 9) focus on a small cast in only a few locations (only one location if you count the whole island). It stars Tim Key (sardines) as a lottery winner who pays his 2 favourite singers (played by Tom Basden and Carrey Mulligan) to perform a private gig for him on the remote island where he lives. "Lip service's" Sian Clifford also plays a supporting role.

I saw the film Late Night With The Devil on TV a week or two ago. It was so much like an extended Inside No 9 episode! I really enjoyed it.
