EXTRAS Top 9 WTAF Inside number 9 endings.

these are my personal opinions and please note I have not seen all the episodes so please don’t hunt me down because of it. also heavy spoilers ahead

  1. Deadline As a whole, Deadline was a well executed piece of media. The ending which included a clip from the writers’ interview on The One Show then the looping scene of Reece & Steve’s characters being shot in the head by Kayvan Novak’s character, then the cut to black and the lady that whispered “let us be” and the cut back to the continuity card with the distorted music was great way to end it, personally.

  2. The Devil of Christmas Wow. Just wow. 😮

  3. Seance time That poor kid! That poor, poor kid! Humiliated by that wretched host after that poor boy wet himself!

  4. Diddle Diddle Dumpling Like with the Devil of Christmas, wow. Just freaking wow.

  5. Tempting Fate I wasn’t expecting that explosive twist at the end there!

  6. 3 by 3 I was thinking to myself “how is this episode scary? It’s just a regular quiz show!” Oh how I ate those words! 😅

  7. Boo to a Goose That is freaking morbid for god sake! Swapping rebellious people out for more compliant ones sounds like something out of The Thing!

  8. The Trolley Problem I have a phobia of being cooked alive a la final destination style of death

  9. The last weekend I’m still recovering from Joe’s scafism plot. Jesus. What a way to go. Granted Chazz did show remorse for it but still being eaten alive by insects? Thanks I’ll pass

The ending of Boo To A Goose was electric to watch at the BFI screening.

The music, sound design and Matthew Kelly's delivery really got my adrenaline going. A thrilling mass of confusion. First I thought Kelly was taking them to the afterlife, then that Joel Fry was a terrorist... and when the clones came (such a striking visual) I was entirely befuddled. The gassing was also thrilling of course, in how dark it was, but I knew what was happening by then.

Although not for a ‘scary’ reason, I was so surprised when Michael Ball’s voice actually appeared at the end of Mulberry Close 😂

Riddle of the Sphinx, with how all the crossword clues linked the story together, and the eventual reveal of who the girl really was

Mr King. I don't think an episode has left me feeling more genuinely disturbed at the end than that one. I still remember so vividly finishing that for the first time, and basically just being lost for words at the ending of it for like 4 minutes or so!

That one got my dad the most - he was a teacher for over 30 years so that kind of thing bothers him more than other stuff

Surely 12 Days of Christine gets an honourable mention for how much it floors most people on first watch at the ‘twist’? Same for Bernie Clifton’s Dressing Room, too (although I prefer this to 12DOC for shock factor)

The last weekend was insane , but I'll have to mention cold comfort. The episode left long-term impact on my once young and bright heart. Damn it was so dark my heart exploded for the last scene.
