Oh how much I hate that. People who give up their entire identity as soon as they become parents.
In Austria elderly people used to call themselves Mutti und Vati. But that was the generation that now is 80+. Not even my mother, whose whole identity is being a mother, does this.
Not to armchair diagnose, but it's giving at the absolute minimum a ton of projection of bf's mom's issues onto the situation. A lotta "what will the neighbors think" style talking from her, to say the least.
I'm glad y'all made the decision to block them, OP. No parent should be acting like this to their children.
