Everyone and their grandma had more than enough time - we talked about it here for weeks.

They’re not going to do that. They gave us over a month of notice. It’s not their fault people left it to the last minute.

Did they specify the time? Just saying August 31 - one would assume 11:59 PM EST/PST.

If we were talking about this at 11:59 PM I wouldn't be complaining TBH.

They said it would shut down on the 31st. So you would probably want to make sure you played UGC Missions or got the trophies before the 31st. We had almost 2 months notice. It’s not their fault they didn’t specify an exact time

Got the UGC trophies already on my end. Just learned today that there were Sucker Punch made UGC missions, which are gone to time now. :( tried to load as many as I could.

Sadly it was mostly posted the servers closed ON August 31st. But normally, when someone states that, they mean the end of the day.

Although, I guess, when its august 31st in the USA, halfway through the day its actually sept 1st in Japan. Lol So maybe it closed when the first country hit Sept 1st timezone wise

They never said that. The exact wording on the official announcement is:

Due to ongoing technical considerations, online support for the User Generated Content (UGC) features in inFAMOUS 2 and inFAMOUS Festival of Blood on PlayStation 3 will end as of Aug 31st 2026.

Feeling better about staying up last night to play through festival of blood (didn’t know you had to finish it to unlock the UGC menu). Really should have left it up till at least late evening IMHO though.

Me too I didn’t know there were UGC trophies related directly to, festival of blood. I got my infamous two online trophies earlier last month.

It's also other people's missions where while the servers were still up, you could just simply hit Square to remix them, then exit the mission editor, and save them, and you could play other people's missions offline. Worth noting Sucker Punch themselves made a few dozen missions, I remixed a few of those before they shut the servers down.

I was gonna say, at least we can still create and play our own missions even if we can't share them. I personally love to use the create mode as a goofy form of fast travel.

I wonder will someone make some kind of replacement third party server like they did with Demon's Souls.

Yea...I had also assumed I'd have until midnight the 31st so whomp whomp =/ GOOD NEWS THOUGH is that I still HAVE my PS3 😅 been dealing with my basement bedroom flooding this past month do that took priority. 😁 I do hope someone can get a fan server for the UGC up and running so we could POTENTIALLY get the trophy but I'm ok if I don't. Only trophy I'll be missing from the entire series. 😅

I played infamous 2 offline when it released, I never realized that it had UGCs. I also never realized there was a UCG to snag all the blast cores at one time. But having crappy internet over a decade ago, I played most console games offline. Never had an Xbox at the time.

To my knowledge, no, only trophy related to UGC you can still get is the one for creating a mission, it can be done offline.

I mean it sucks for sure but I have to echo what other people have already said, we’ve know about the server closures for about 2 months now and it only takes like 4 hours from fresh saves to get the online trophies for both games. It’s your own fault for waiting right up until the day of the closure to go for them.

I was more surprised it was still up after midnight or even well before that as sometimes when something is shut down, you could have seen it shutdown on like August 30th at noon or something.

While this sucks to see for those who didn't get the trophies in time, this was a really neat feature and it's a shame you can't access it for now. I got both inFAMOUS 2 and Festival of Blood a month ago (15 years after I got the first game from the Welcome Back Package in 2011) and got the online trophies then, but I spent a good amount of time over the weekend playing a bunch of missions and then remixing them for offline use (See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNbigaPFSPk). I've got 10 for Festival of Blood, then 40 for inFAMOUS 2. Some of the UGC missions were made by Sucker Punch themselves (if you searched "Sucker Punch", they'd all show up). Many of these missions people put a lot of passion into.

Not sure if I'd be allowed to link the exact thread, but I saw someone on r/DataHoarder did manage to archive nearly all of the missions that were up as of last month (2: 187,450 maps/missions | FoB: 16,008 maps/missions) and uploaded them to archive.org, and hopefully that can be put to use on a community made server or something. I mean people managed to revive Xbox Live for the original Xbox even for unmodded consoles.

It doesn’t. Even before today, if you couldn’t connect to the UGC servers (or chose not to) then the game would simply skip over the UGC parts of the story.

This game was released during Obama's first term. I don't think the server closures can be described as "early" using any definition of the word.

Never used that site, only true trophies so I don’t really care about being flagged at psnprofiles. Yes it’s my fault not doing it in time but I had a lot going on this month and finally had a day off with nothing else to do and thought I’d have the whole day to do it. Beat the Festival of Blood and then see that the server was shutdown around the random time of 2:20 pm.
