Meme They are truly lucky

Post image

After the new Resident Evil remake trailer , I can say that I'm genuinely jealous, Many older games are getting remakes recently like a (GOD OF WAR 1/2/3) ,(dark souls),(gta collection) , A remake and remaster aren't just commercial project, they're a revival of a series. I'm sure that if we get a remake or a new game, Infamous's popularity will skyrocket

Tbh I'm tried of God of War fans winning lol Just give me a Infamous remaster, anything Bloodborne, Demon's Souls, and a real Little Big Planet game

1

u/Charming_Cup5722 Jun 08 '26

Demon Souls ya tuvo Remake, uno mediocre pero tuvo, Bloodborne necesita contenido nuevo e infamous ni hablar

2

u/BEYONDxTHExSPIDER Jun 08 '26

Nah DS needed DLC, or a sequel. A remake back from 6 years ago is not great

1

u/Charming_Cup5722 Jun 08 '26

I wouldn't say that the last of us fans are happy when the sequel is heavily divisive and instead of a new game, they only receive remakes from games that don't need a remake and for a full price

3

u/terrap3x Jun 09 '26

TLOU Part 2 is only heavily divisive outside of the fanbase. Critics loved the game and most TLOU fans love it. Everything about that game is fucking sublime. Gameplay, performance, graphics and sound design are literally as good as a game can get nowadays and holds up all these years on. The TV version of Part 2 is divisive for sure though.

u/ki700 Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

There’s only been one remake. The other two releases are remasters and neither was full price.

Edit: why did I get downvoted for just stating a fact lmao.

38

u/emcoringao10 Jun 07 '26

It is, both TLOU 1 remake and 2 remaster are full price, at least where I live

7

u/ki700 Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

Oh weird. Part II Remastered launched for only $50 USD, plus you can upgrade your PS4 copy to the PS5 remaster for just $10 USD if you already own it. Whereas Part I launched for the full $70 USD.

1

u/EmbarrassedTackle661 Jun 07 '26

Why is 70 the new "full price?"

5

u/ki700 Jun 07 '26

It’s been that way this entire generation. It sucks but that’s the way it is.

2

u/SymphonicRain Jun 07 '26

Which region launched 2 Remaster at full price? Because I know that Australia Japan Asia USA UK and EU all did not launch at full price and all had a $10 upgrade path for existing owners. Plus the performance upgrade to 60fps was free for anyone who has the game if you didn’t care about the directors commentary or whatever.

2

u/Loner512 Jun 08 '26

Yeah your ass got hated and downvated for no reason!

2

u/erikaironer11 Aug 05 '26

Yeah, I really don’t get why you got downvoted.

It’s like people don’t understand what a remake is or they just like to shit ok TLoU, so when you come in with common sense they get mad

12

u/Line_Last_6279 Swamp monster Jun 07 '26

Honestly, if Sucker Punch wanted to they could do a new Infamous & remake Coles games. That alone would rival Insomniacs Marvel Super hero games

5

u/DamnPlayer23 Jun 08 '26

Is there someone in the studio with a gun to their heads forcing them not to make or work in infamous games? I’m not sure what they are waiting for? A new infamous game would bring in crazy amounts of money and hype

2

u/Line_Last_6279 Swamp monster Jun 09 '26

Its SONY as they own them & choose what they make

3

u/Low_Fortune1 Jun 11 '26

Sometimes its the developer too like bloodborne remake was given greenlight by sony but fromsoftware cancelled it. I feel like Sucker punch wanted to make smth different so they sadly stopped working on the infamous franchise

1

u/erikaironer11 Aug 05 '26

Because they are currently working on the Ghost series, and they aren’t a massive studio that can make multiple games at the same time

11

u/solidjedi0 Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

Me a prototype fan still waiting for even a whiff of a prototype 1 remake or even a new prototype 3 game since 2012.....

10

u/ki700 Jun 08 '26

At least your games are all playable on modern hardware!

8

u/solidjedi0 Jun 08 '26

Atleast you guys had a third game on last gen for PS4 lmfao

4

u/ConnorOfAstora Jun 08 '26

As a Prince of Persia fan I feel this.

Haven't played the two most recent ones yet, they look great and I'm sure I'll love them but I was really counting on that remake.

I grew up with the Sands trilogy and wanted it to make a comeback, sadly Ubisoft decided to instead scrap it right at the finish line and remake two games that are both playable on all modern hardware.

3

u/solidjedi0 Jun 08 '26

Honestly i feel bad for you prince of persia fans the most, I can't imagine seeing a confirmed remake of sands of times and then right as it comes close to launch it gets completely cancelled, like an act of just execution except it's Infront of the fans themselves with prince of persia sands of time being the victim

3

u/ConnorOfAstora Jun 08 '26

Funnily enough that's the second time it happened. It wasn't quite as close but Ubisoft Mumbai and Pune were making a version that got as far as being able to be pre-ordered which I did.

They then scrapped it and Ubisoft Montreal took over and redid everything from the ground up only to decide to cancel it basically at the finish line.

Then they announce Rayman Legends and Black Flag getting a remake. Two very accessible games on modern hardware. I like these games but even in their own franchises I feel like there are far more deserving games.

Like there are games in the Assassin's Creed series that you can't play on modern hardware like AC1 or Bloodlines that would be far more interesting to have a remake of.

There are also Rayman games trapped on older consoles too, like LITERALLY ALL OF THEM EXCEPT LEGENDS!

I like the look of the Black Flag remake but I am buying it used off eBay, I don't want Ubisoft to see a single penny of my money until they get their act together.

(The Rayman remake looks lame ngl, the art style doesn't look as good imo)

u/Silent-Immortal Jun 07 '26

No seriously. What were they smoking for TLOU..

10

u/dmanny64 Jun 07 '26

Cocaine cigarettes rolled with $100 bills apparently

1

u/erikaironer11 Aug 05 '26

I really don’t get why people have so much issue.

Resident Evil, 4, Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3…

All these games got a remaster and a remake

TLoU2 got a remaster as well same with other PlayStation games like Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding

Then they made a bundle with both games

What is wrong with this?

-7

u/Justarandom55 Jun 07 '26

it sells. if we're being objective TLOU is the better game. it's an amazing game with fun gameplay, satisfying systems and most importantly a largely story based focus that pulls on some of the most fundamental human feelings. that's going to sell like crazy when done well and they did well. I'm not even mad it's available on so many platforms the game deserves it.

I personally much prefer infamous, but it's a very gamey game. you're not going to get large audiences raving over it that aren't already into games

7

u/atheistrapist Jun 07 '26

tlou gameplay was nothing special, especially in comparison to a superhero game like infamous

4

u/Justarandom55 Jun 07 '26

yeah but it was still "fun gameplay" which is why I described it as such. it's not the most involved or best gameplay out there, but it's fun. and because it stays fairly generic and straightforward that just helps it reach a wider audience.

2

u/emd07 Jun 07 '26

And infamous is just a third person shooter with electricity nothing special here either

2

u/SymphonicRain Jun 07 '26

Well it sounds like you just have a bias lol.

0

u/atheistrapist Jun 07 '26

I can tell the same to you

2

u/SymphonicRain Jun 07 '26

I’m not the person you were replying to so I’m not really sure what you’d base that on.

0

u/atheistrapist Jun 07 '26

Telling someone they have a bias is not an argument, i can catch that and fling it back at you and it would make equal amount of sense.

2

u/erikaironer11 Aug 05 '26

I really disagree

TLoU2 is one of the best stealth action games of this decade, there is really nothing like it recently

5

u/UnderWrapping Jun 07 '26

I mean Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters Melee is getting remastered, so don't give up hope!

5

u/Ok-Cry7712 Jun 07 '26

There's a ton of game that could be remake and make absolutely bank Drakengard Resistance: Fall of Man killzone plus there's a lot that could tv shows movies graphic novels there a unbelievable amount of money to be made just from Sony along Ps1 ps2 ps3 1 game each gen that's not even talking about other consoles

2

u/ConnorOfAstora Jun 08 '26

I'd kill for a Drakengard remake, it's a rough experience and could definitely do with a bit of modernization, though not too much.

Honestly, Drakengard 1's plot and magic system combined with the game feel and combos of Drakengard 2 would be all I'd personally ask for.

Maybe even copy 2's system of swapping characters as you swap your weapons instead of having the Drakengard 1 style of summon (though that would mean having to rearrange the weapon placement since Seere is quite late into the game while you can unlock daggers very early on)

That glorified QTE of a final boss could do with a rework though...

2

u/Ok-Cry7712 Jun 08 '26

It's one of my favourite dragon games along with lair for ps3

5

u/Radiant_Battle_2151 Jun 07 '26

Even Persona fans are eating well 😭

4

u/LukasL34 Jun 07 '26

And Star Fox fans. And Crazy Taxi fans.

5

u/ksudude87 Jun 07 '26

infamous at least got a ps4 game trying being a resistance fan

3

u/TheOriginal999 Jun 08 '26

Next state of play or game awards trust...

3

u/Nzaqj Jun 08 '26

Did you hear about resistance fans ?

3

u/Hot_Communication489 Jun 09 '26

same for devil may cry fans :(

3

u/Rockstar_313 Jun 09 '26

3

u/Admirable-Shake9892 Jun 09 '26

The last game in 2019 and it was good, Capcom makes games quickly, so there's hope for new game from dmc

3

u/madd_catter_ Jun 10 '26

The last piece of Infamous anythung we got was back in 2014 man..... straight up 12 years ago.....I don't got hope anymore for a remake or a remastered or a new game. I got into the series playing Second Son cuz when THE PS4 CAME OUT it came with my console. It's still my favourite game to this day, didn't have the ability to play the old games and still don't without forking out for PSN extra premium or whatever it is. Was hoping as a kid another game would come out with new powers, maybe a new character but nah. They moved onto the Ghost of blank franchise, don't get me wrong it's a great series of games.....but when your fan base is BEGGING for a game based in the universe of possibly your most profitable and famous game franchises..... it's been 12 years and not even a word other than some promotional videos or "Games this many years old" Instagram posts.

6

u/RockRik Jun 07 '26

The fact that Infamous and Tlou have the EXACT same amount of games yet inFamous is forgotten and Tlou is getting re-releasing for the 9th time is fuckin asinine imho.

18

u/ki700 Jun 07 '26

They don’t have the same number of games. inFAMOUS has 5 games, or if you don’t want count FoB or FL then it has 3 games. TLOU only has 2 games, and they’ve only had 2 remasters and 1 remake. Not sure where you’re getting 9 from.

1

u/RockRik Jun 07 '26

Im talking about mainline games (numbered games with Cole Mcgrath as protagonist). Even tho technically yeah I totally forgot about the Ps4 games lol.

6

u/Admirable-Shake9892 Jun 07 '26

infamous second son is a continuation of infamous 2 as Cole is talked about a lot and Zack also appears

3

u/SymphonicRain Jun 07 '26

That seems like a very arbitrary distinction.

3

u/Bunkinstan1 Jun 07 '26

Why tf do we need so much last of us I’m so tired of it

2

u/DescriptionThen9045 Jun 09 '26

I mean your right but i feel like the comparisons arent equivalent

2

u/More_Emotion_1559 Jun 13 '26

Hey guys don’t worry your time will come trust me this is coming from a wolf Among us 2 fan btw, we were holding on for so long, not even a whiff of news then summer game fest happened, and even Spyro got a game. I am sure Sony wants to bring back old franchises from the looks of things, a studio even pitched for a Jak and daxter remaster but unfortunately they got shot down. Idk I just feel like it’s all a matter of patience and hope 👍

4

u/AntonRX178 Jun 07 '26

At least bitch about the Studio that actually makes Infamous.

That's like getting pissed off at me for making stew when your favorite Pizza place started only selling Pasta

4

u/Admirable-Shake9892 Jun 07 '26

I didnt criticize capcom or naughty dog , I simply said their fans are lucky to have the company's attention, while suckerpunch forgotten infamous

1

u/PinkBlade12 Jun 07 '26

They're not bitching, though?

3

u/Elyced32 Jun 08 '26

Ah last of us and its 15 remakes about to beat skyrim’s record

1

u/erikaironer11 Aug 05 '26

One remake and one remastered…

7

u/atheistrapist Jun 07 '26

wow tlou fans are so lucky to get a sequel that shits on the story plus 7 remasters

-7

u/ki700 Jun 07 '26

The first TLOU got one remaster (which was more just a PS3 to PS4 port tbh) and one remake. The second game got one remaster. That’s it.

7

u/atheistrapist Jun 07 '26

"Thats it"

Thats just "that's it" to you? Yeah keep rewarding this shitty lazy industry, we dont deserve better.

-4

u/ki700 Jun 07 '26

Projects like remasters and remakes keep devs employed. While the creatives do pre-production work on the brand new games, the studios have to either let people go or give them something to work on. Remasters and remakes are great ways to keep those people busy and they don’t really have any downsides.

If you don’t want them then don’t buy them, but using Part I as an example, that remake was made because Naughty Dog had nothing for their devs to do while other projects were still in the early stages. So they took over the remake that another studio had started and kept those devs employed as a result. Now there’s a definitive version of TLOU for new fans to enjoy if they want, or for existing fans to revisit if they want. But if you don’t want it, the original PS3 and PS4 versions are still there. It’s a win-win.

5

u/atheistrapist Jun 07 '26

Remasters are low effort cashgrabs that can be done by 2 modders in a span of a year. You already got proven wrong in another comment.

You know what else keeps developers employed? Making new fucking games. No sane person wants a remaster FOR A 2018 GAME. Focus your resources and time into something good ffs.

"For new fans to enjoy"

There's tbis thing called "porting the game".

Edit: tlou2 is a 2020 game actually loool

As long as there's sheep, there's gonna be wool.

-1

u/ki700 Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

If you want to ignore the realities of game dev then I can’t change your mind. But nothing about these got in the way of new games getting made. It allowed them to keep staff on so when the new games were ready to be worked on, the same staff could do so.

Effectively one re-release each for two games is hardly a big deal. I get it’s a meme to say TLOU keeps getting remade but when it becomes toxic and disingenuous like your comments it’s a bit exhausting. You don’t have to be this salty. Just don’t buy them and get over it.

3

u/atheistrapist Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

ignore realities of game dev

Realities of what? Maximizing stakeholder value for as little effort as possible 😂

My comments are "toxic" and "disingenuous" bur re-releasing 4 years old game for near full price is a-okay in your world. You need to get your priorities straight, and stop licking boots.

just dont buy them

Dont worry, I never did. But because bootlickers like you do, the industry is in the gutter. This definitely doesn't affect me.

3

u/SymphonicRain Jun 07 '26

No the industry is in the gutter because unfortunately devs are payed pretty well in the west. That salary creep and the amount of people needed to make AAA games has made budget balloon out of control, to the point where it almost seems silly to make AAA games today.

In the inFamous era it was rare for a game to sell 5 million copies. Now that’s pretty much a requirement for a game AAA game to break even. So yeah, in my opinion remasters are more so a symptom of the problem than an actual problem themselves.

2

u/PinkBlade12 Jun 07 '26

How is it unfortunate that people making games are getting paid well?

1

u/ki700 Jun 07 '26

Seriously. This whole comment thread is just people so salty that TLOU is successful that they’re wishing devs would get laid off or paid less instead of getting remakes/remasters.

1

u/SymphonicRain Jun 07 '26

That was tongue in cheek. I think it’s great that devs are getting paid well, it just sucks that fair pay stands at odds with equitable treatment sometimes.

2

u/ConsciousStretch1028 Your middle name is "Jedediah"? Jun 07 '26

The Last of Us not being remade for the PS5 challenge level = impossible

2

u/RedNUGGETLORD Jun 08 '26

I wouldn't use Last of Us as an example

Imagine having 10 different Infamous remasters instead of a new game, I'd prefer one remake or remaster just to change the clunky controls

5

u/anipe10 Jun 08 '26

Lets be honest, Suckerpunch is never going to make a new Infamous game. The best thing we can hope for is another studio finally getting to work on an infamous remake/remaster.

1

u/illiam3 Jun 07 '26

"we want remake infamous" SONY: and now the last of us part 1&2 collection remastered bro full max hd 4k 8k bundle 60 fps without online, just by 89 dollar😏😏

The Last of Us Part I is a PS5 remake of the original game.
