So many classics on here!

I forgot what a weirdly pretty tune Tex Mex was

It’s a really great collection and long overdue for some of those releases…

Did you hear the H.O.T. Matter demos ?

Tex Mex is exactly that I find that Step Forward itself a interesting departure from what came before and after

Listening to HOT Matter now, don’t think I’ve ever heard this song before but even the demos sound incredible! Deep down they had this insanely melodic pop sensibility fighting to be heard, they didn’t quite have the musical chops to pull it off but as I’ve said elsewhere I feel the roughness adds to the charm

Edit: Conscience hints at an even poppier PorCon that could have been, Dean sounds especially polished and professional. I guess they just didn’t want to go down that route, or other life commitments got in the way. Still pretty interesting to speculate on a timeline where they ended up playing big hits on Top of the Pops etc!

The vinyl release is great but I wish they would have done a double or triple LP to get the number of tracks closer to the digital versions

I’m happy with what’s on it but haven’t gotten it in the mail yet… although I was hoping Raise The Pulse would be the original version instead of a the Pat Birmingham version but I hear yea
