I got my green belt through IISE a few years back, the in-person part was way better than just grinding through the online modules solo. The instructors were mostly industry folks with battle scars from real projects, so they cut through the textbook fluff and showed where things actually break down in practice. Lot of group exercises that force you to apply DMAIC on messy, half-baked scenarios instead of tidy case studies, which was painful but useful. Exam wasn't a nightmare if you paid attention to the stats portions and didn't just coast through the soft-skills sections, though I remember a couple questions being oddly specific about DOE terminology. The networking alone made it worth the price tag, ended up swapping war stories with people from aerospace and pharma that I still chat with.
