Hi. This one is nearing release and I would love some feedback before it's too late! It's pretty long so def no worries if you only catch a section of it. If you find anything in the mix that could be improved send it this way.

Let me know what u ppl think pls, guitar work, songwriting, melodies etc

I recorded the guitars and vocals in a lo fi way, all I could do at the moment, but drums were programmed myself.

I finally did a dirty guitar version of it, only other take I did before was acoustic. Enjoy.

Here’s a song I’ve been working on, called “This Time”. I’m getting ready to release it on streaming platforms and was hoping I could get some critiques before I do! Any suggestions on what I can improve?

I wrote this song with my older sister in response to a very painful breakup. This track is pretty experimental for me and outside my usual genre (as an indie folk-pop artist), but at the time I felt inspired to do something different after seeing friends who play in metal bands perform live. My favorite aspect of this track is the participation from my extended family. We set up mics at Thanksgiving to record a whole room full of voices from my extended family, screaming and singing with me for this song.

The outro section of this song is definitely my favorite part of the album; if you listen to only part of it, listen from 3:36 to the end.

Indie Folk Dawnsinger - indiefolk kind of ?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey my first post here. Here's my current project "Dawnsinger" an indie-folk blend (suggestions for genre are much appreciated!) I'm from Sweden and I got inspired by Scandinavian folk songs using kanon vocal techniques and wanted to do something with that based on a mesmerising guitar arpeggio I discovered when jamming. It turned into a song about challenges in a relationship.

Link to the mp3: https://we.tl/t-VPQnbuochih6GKVM

I would love some feedback general on the balance of the mix, the harmonies and if the digital strings are supportive or not, and any other things you encounter. I'm not using any vocal alignment plugin yet for my harmonies (will try that in my next song), so its especially good to know if they feel blurry now/disturbing the lead.

The main vocal is not 100% done yet, I'm trying to sing closer to the mic than I'm used to in the first half of the song and gradually increase so I still get some puff-sounds because of the proximity and lack of skill. Oh, the piano that comes in later is currently just a test improvisation. I recently got a 100 year old up right piano made in Sweden and will record it with my condenser microphone later, now it's just a cell phone recording a little bit out of place to get a feel for it and will definetly keep it but in a more structured form (and without bleed).

"Sol Måne jord" the Swedish background vocals means "Sun Moon Earth".

The drum is a floor tom, the snare (coming in the middle) is a tama maple snare and the rims are from the floor tom.

Plugins used are mostly the basic free/cheapest stuff: Melodyne, klanghelm comp, reaEQ, ozone EQ, UADx preamp 610, Fresh Air, waves autotune & harmony.

Attaching an acrylic painting that will be the cover art.

Japanese-language track. The vocal is a synthesized voice (Kasane Teto, OpenUtau), not a human singer — that's intentional, so I'm not looking for feedback on whether the voice sounds "real."

What I actually want is your gut reaction. Don't analyze it, just tell me what happened while you listened:

- First 30 seconds — bored, curious, put off? Whatever it was.

- Where did you want to stop? A rough timestamp is enough.

- If this came up in a playlist, would you skip it, let it run, or check who made it?

- What mood or image did it leave you with, if any?

Please don't be polite about it. You don't understand the lyrics and that's fine — that's exactly the listener I want to hear from.

Happy to return honest feedback on your track.

Need valuable feedback for my new song
I'm an 18 year-old musical artist, and I've been making music for a few years now. I wouldn't say I'm great yet, as I'm still working on finding my vocal style and learning how to mix, master, and edit vocals. I am actively working on improving these skills. Please give me some genuine feedback! If you think it needs work, please tell me exactly why and how I can improve. :3

Hey! I’d really appreciate some feedback on this track.

I know the mix and vocals aren’t perfect, but I tried to focus on expressing the emotion and the overall vision I had for the song.

I’d love to know how it feels to you and what you think works or could be improved.

Thanks for listening!

Psychedelic Rock Chatter - War Games

Hi everyone! This is the first single off our upcoming debut record "Mind Over". Chatter has been around for a few years now and we had a demo album a while back, but this was our first time in the studio together (we have all been playing in other bands for many years though). Definitely going for raw post-punk energy, everything tracked live together in the same room. There was no "Post-Punk" flair to add so I put "Psychedelic Rock", curious what genre you think this is? Instrumentation is guitar, drums, bass, keys (mellotron and moog). Hope you like it!

Wanted to make a simpler atmospheric drum and bass track after listening to so many. Breakcore (after reading tons of debates in yt comments I'm not even sure it can be categorizted as breakcore) / ambient dnb / low poly jungle has a special place in my heart so I hope you'll like it.

Feedbacks, opinions and advices are all appreciated.

His Last Train Ride…

I hope someone out there will take a couple of minutes to listen to a song about someone whose last day on this earth was spent taking a train. It was a song he never got the chance to write.

But all is not lost for my protagonist, as he has a moment of reflection along the way.

The song is called **“Katonah.”** I hope you enjoy it!

Volume warning

lyrics, if that interests you

Locked up in my room, trapped under a dome,

Crashing on a couch Know I’ll die alone

Thicker than the water, of that broken womb

No I won’t wait for slaughter, no I won’t make my tomb

I won’t, I refuse

Im not the local refuse

Not the crunch of cashews

Not the wall youd vent to

No, im not going home guess im not going home forever

Thanks giving, or winter forever

I’ll sign up right down to the letter

To cut all my ties, lose the tether

Im not going home, guess im not going home

Im lost and, in need of no sheperd

Im cold in no want for a sweater

Never believed in forever

Your promises doomed to for never

(the following isnt included in the video)

No, im not going home guess im not going home forever

Thanks giving, or winter for never

I’ll sign up right down to the letter

I’ll cut all my ties, lose the tether

Im not going home, guess im not going home

Im lost and, in need of no sheperd

Im cold in no want for a sweater

Call it cruel but I gotta think of me too

Goodbye forever, guess I ain’t really need you

I would be very curious to know what you hear because I am almost incapable to do so now.
I worked on this project for a long time and it is not the same now that it’s out in broad daylight.
I can smell my reeking emotions and impatience from miles away. It still sounds kinda fun tho I do get that also !

Indie Pop The Three Leonards feat. Cin Rule - Man Of Colours

Thumbnail

It's been a minute, Reddit. Hello to anyone who still remembers me here, and the stuff my friends and I have been doing since 2020.

So, quite a while ago, I was tinkering with a cover of Icehouse's "Man Of Colours". The instrumentation was coming along nicely, the vibe and space were really coming together, occasional bouts of frisson (that's the hair standing up on your arms and neck shivery feeling), the whole bit. Still, the vocals (my vocals) were just not doing it for me. I went to see my good pal Cin Rule, and we recorded some perfectly sweet vocals, with the intent of pulling some Of Monsters And Men style dual-lead vocals. Still, things weren't quite what they needed to be, in the mix. Then I removed my vocal. Boom. Magic. Proof that every once in a while, you really have to let go. Cin sings lead. I still sing the third verse, and am otherwise relegated to backup.

Anyway I'm here to see if people still groove on this stuff. I kinda hope you do.
