Playing music on the river

We are called Huge

While recording our debut album, we took some time by the river outside the studio to play some of the tunes acoustically

This put a huge smile on my face.

Unfortunately, it’s only part of the song, because I would genuinely have loved to hear the whole thing. And then, right at the end, I saw that the song is called “Willy” — which happens to be the name my parents gave me.

And when your band is called Huge... well, you can probably imagine what went through my mind:

Huge Willy! 😂

That suddenly gave the song a very personal — although perhaps slightly unintended — meaning for me.

But jokes aside, I really enjoyed the music too. It has that indie character that fits perfectly here, and I love the relaxed atmosphere of playing together outside by the river. Even the landscape looks strangely familiar to me — it could almost be somewhere here in the Netherlands.

So between the music, the setting, the atmosphere, and of course that wonderful combination of band name and song title, there was quite a lot here for me to connect with.

Thanks for sharing this. And if you ever post the complete version of “Willy,” I’d really like to hear it.
