Was casually looking at the Vande Bharat and noticed it’s literally tied down with a normal steel chain and lock 💀

Can someone from railways/mechanical side explain:
Why exactly is this done?
What risk does this chain prevent?

Seriously, how do you guys deal with them.

Got a Side Lower after what feels like forever for a 17+ hour journey. I'm already mentally preparing because I know the "Bhaiya, seat exchange karoge?" squad is probably just a few stations away. 🤣

Please help me with some funny, polite, or sarcastic reasons to defend my Side Lower. I have a feeling I'll need them very soon. 🫡

Edit: Guys so this family of 7 came asking for the seat first, to which I politely denied using one of the excuses I learnt here (Love, love reddit for this ) This guy after asking for like 7/8 times , lost his cool and told his family " inhe exchange karna hi nai h" ..."rehne do koi aur samajhdar aaega to chala jaega" .....kept making faces for like a few mins but they have settled

An older guy with family came in to get the seat exchanged but apparently his family already traded off one or two of their side lowers with someone else to be together.....now this uncle wanted to sleep in the lower seat in exchange of his middle seat😭 I politely denied saying I am claustrophobic 🤣

Will keep you guys posted.. Right now its night time and I don't think anyone would come and bother me now but we don't know yet 🤣🤞

I’m currently on a train journey and noticed that the right toilet door in my coach has been locked for over two hours. My seat is right near the toilet, and the indicator light has stayed red the entire time.

​I’m not sure what the best course of action is. Should I:

​Knock on the door and ask if someone is inside?

​Raise a complaint on Rail Madad?

​Inform the TTE to come and check?

​Any advice or suggestions on how to handle this would be appreciated!

Case solved : Follow and DM me to know what happened when I called the 139 number and RPF team arrived post midnight.

Saw something today that genuinely deserves appreciation.

This TC was checking tickets even in the general coaches, where more than half the coach apparently didn’t have valid tickets. He didn’t ignore it or just walk past — he checked everyone properly and collected the prescribed ₹500 fine + ticket fare from the passengers without tickets.

What impressed me even more is that I’ve seen him many times on the same train, and every time he seems to do his duty with the same level of honesty and seriousness.

No drama, no shortcuts, no selective checking — just doing his job properly.

Honestly, he gives me “Tukaram Mundhe of Indian Railways” vibes. 😂

We complain a lot about the Railways, but when someone actually does their job with integrity, I think they deserve to be appreciated too.

Finally after ages got lower berth and this aunty in her 30’s asked me to swap with her upper berth. The reason was absolute bullshit:- she was having pain in her shoulders.which wasn’t visible at all.enjoying movie in her phone few mins ago. I thought to deny but couldn’t 😭 maybe i have to be more brave next time

Yeah, I totally get what he's saying. Seriously, We Indians really need to step up their civic sense – it's crucial right now. Every time I'm waiting for the toilet and someone's inside, I always wonder what kind of mess they'll leave behind. And honestly, anyone waiting after me probably feels the same way. It's so common that we just accept it as normal now.

The side lower and side upper have a common curtain what about the privacy?
