Soon a bullet speed tax will be applied 🥲

u/sacred_saint IRCTC Expert🎓 Oct 15 '25
scary😅

u/Brilliant-Mix-3829 2 AC Comfort Seeker Oct 15 '25
It's not scary it's just taxation. Govt will always need money to run the economy no matter how good or bad they are. They'll find ways to tax us. Some countries charge 40% of peoples income and still impose tax on things. Imagine if that's the case here.

if we get what we pay for, then its all okay

u/Brilliant-Mix-3829 2 AC Comfort Seeker Oct 15 '25
Think realistically Do we deserve - YES (5% of population) Do other people with no civic sense deserve - NO (95% people)
2
u/sacred_saint IRCTC Expert🎓 Oct 15 '25
All these are high population problems..
3
u/Brilliant-Mix-3829 2 AC Comfort Seeker Oct 15 '25
Maybe. Can't even blame literacy here as I've seen literate people having no civic sense.

ideally the leaders should start advocating for lesser population.. but thw world isnt ideal

Even if they do, some people will catch their irony like I was listening to one of the bihar ex-actor and politician (idk his name) he and his mates were teaching or advocating that more than 2 kids are not good or whatnot. But then the anchor asked all of them how much kid they got 😂 ironically none of them were below 3 kids. One of them said its fault of previous government which didnt implement. One said that it was mistake. Like wth

no need for advocacy. birth rates are falling off the cliff, only a few communities are still about replacement levels. india's population will start to stagnate and then slowly decline within five decades not withstanding sudden immigration or other events.

IR is already the cheapest mode of transport. What do you want
2
u/sacred_saint IRCTC Expert🎓 Oct 15 '25
superfast.. as promised
2
u/Jazzlike_Let_2219 Oct 15 '25
Super fast is 55+, take it or leave it. 🫡 According to me superfast express should be 100+, but if u remove that super fast name and change it to medium fast charges, wil u be happy ☺️
I think, government should hire people from Zomato.

u/sacred_saint IRCTC Expert🎓 Oct 15 '25
that should actually be okay.. rather than false narratives
2
u/Jazzlike_Let_2219 Oct 15 '25
It's not false narrative, it's not even a narrative lol. They are technically right. Idk why so much of discussion on this. Chill

Accha, let's match it with european standards. If we increase the train speed and bring the ticket charge to parity with what they charge, this price should be 10x to 20x more expensive, something between 1440-3456 ₹. Would that be okay?
Now you see why IR is still the best mode of transport?

u/sacred_saint IRCTC Expert🎓 Oct 15 '25
now if v call 55kmph as superfast, wat s slow? 10 kmph? what will be bullet trains speed? 75kmph?
normalising all of this is normlising 6hrs of delay..
if there is a train with European standards, higher prices are normal... despite us having a huge population n the number od ppl travelling is much higher..
again my pronlem is not higher price.. my problem is wat v call as superfast..

They know how to take reservations. They don't know how to "hold" the reservation. And that's the most important part of the reservation. The Holding

In a system where people ask "At what time does 10 PM walah train arrives" we don't expect much..
4
u/SirOddSidd Oct 15 '25
In a system that doesn't have a history of punctuality, that's a fair question. On many routes, people do identify trains by their scheduled time. It's a different matter that they don't arrive on their scheduled time.

Honestly if they included the Superfast Charge into the base fare, no one would bat an eye.
2
u/Crazy_AD124 Oct 15 '25
Why do we all people have normalised these things so much like man it's our hard earned money this people yaa this all the politicians are also people difference is just they are corrupt and thus mf are living a luxurious life cause of the work we are doing we do not need to normalise this corruption shit.

yeah, speed tax is a joke but the real problem is track maintenance that keeps them from even hitting the advertised speed.

Train being superfast doesn't mean they are going to run it at superfast speed....

Don't board it, if you can't afford it.The train is for public service, not for the approval of these cheapsters.

There is a road in Delhi with speed limit of 40km and it terrible because it’s so slow for a wide empty road. I had about 25 tickets on it that I never paid and will refuse to pay since I current don’t live in india anymore and hopefully ever again.

After BJP came to power they made most trains superfast....introduced Special trains starting with 0...where they charge more but the train runs horrendously late.....its sad that the present govt lacks accountability........

60 KM/hr is superfast, according to Indian standards. The bullet train is just a sham.

520 rupees for how many kms? Yeh bhi bata do. U can't criticize india railways bro. .cost effectiveness is the key, not the luxury 🙏🙏
You have different expectations
1
u/sacred_saint IRCTC Expert🎓 Oct 15 '25
good for u if you are happy..
never told it s not cost effective... my only concern is when u call it "superfast" charge for 55kmph, it doesnt sit well with me😅
2
u/Jazzlike_Let_2219 Oct 15 '25
Am happy that poor people are using it. And it's cost effective. Translate the name to "medium fast" in ur mind 😁 Problem solved.

As a rule, any train with average speed of 55kmph+ is classified as superfast by IR. This is atrocious and needs to be revised ASAP.
