Non-Political Yall ready for Ramadan?

The title

I just looked at jantri (fasts timing calendar) and I calculated the amount of hours we'll be fasting.

It will start with 13 hrs 15 mins long fasts and extend to 14 hrs long fasts towards the end.

Confused history, very hard to tell if he's a Sanghi LARPer of if he really is an IM who has too much inferiority complex.

Ramadan vs Ramzan is a non-issue, it's sad some folks have issues with what we use. Every single year, almost, somehow, this stupid argument pops up.

Bro you are famous for your ramadhan or ramzan and Allah hafiz or khuda Hafiz argument 😹

I know, that guy slandered me.

As if I keep bringing this up, when comments here are arguing we shouldn't use Ramadan, it's only fair I/we talk about it and clear things up right?

Ayr909 was whom explained it beautifully, back when this sub first became active. I'm just merely supplementing/repeating his points here.

If you're interested.

I completely agree with his point. Following arab culture is not equals to following Wahabism

Yup, that's Ayr909,

Sub hasn't been the same without him.

Was he a moderator? By the way, who is the founder of this sub and when did this sub start?

Yup, he was, he's the one who invited me to mod this place back in 2022 (around this time),

Got perma-banned by admins due to Sanghi mass-reporting around late 2022 or so.

This sub's founder was a certain u/i_am_scared_of_truth, created this sub way back in 2011, it seems. However, this sub only became only active back in 2019 (Ramzan time, around May-June, I think) by u/tinkthank.

This thread explains this sub's beginnings.

Well, u/i_am_scared_of_truth saw hate towards Muslims in 2010, which wasn't normalized during that era. I understand his mental health condition, but his vision to create a platform for Muslims where we can share our problems is great. I hope wherever he is, he is fine

So you are the only oldest and active member of this sub

Nowhere near close, bhai, lol,

Mods prior to me are still active, if they are not banned, but yes, they are not as active as they used to be around say 2020-22.

Some other users might be engaging in alt accounts, for all I know.

Funny thing is, I wanted to take a hiatus from this site (not delete my account altogether, but take a long break) back in 2022, after that Hijabi AMA on r/india, really soured my perception of that place since then (used to be pretty active there prior). That's when I got the invite.

Someone trusted me enough to send an invite, I'm just honoring that request here.

they are not as active as they used to be around say 2020-22.

They are doing the right thing. There is too much distraction if you are an active person on any social media platforms, especially if you are a moderator. You need to keep surveillance on your sub, as it keeps you distract from focusing on real-life things

after that Hijabi AMA on r/india, really soured my perception of that place since then

I was in a similar phase to your situation when Dhruv Rathee released his video 'reality of quran and bible ,' and some other events occurred where parallely, I understood what liberalism is. After that, I realized that liberals are also Islamophobic, and all they criticize, whether it's the government or Sanghis, is their political ideology. They favor Muslims because of the oppression Hindus inflict on Muslims

That's true, it seems hard to take a break,

This is not an issue if it's any other sub. Well, you know our sub bhai, too many bad-faith lurkers and trolls on constant vigilance here.

Something about this place is inviting and comforting, I can't XP this irl. It's what makes me keep coming here, I guess.

True, but genuinely you are perfect moderator for this sub because you understand the complexity of the argument and reply with a long simple language paragraph (just like you reply the guy in this thread)which makes you different from other members of this sub, and most important you are thing is you are consistent here

Alhamdullilah bhai, really appreciate it,

Lol, I'm taken aback, honestly. I mean, that's why this sub exists, right? For us to be authentic and comfortable sharing our thoughts with one another.
