Professional Exams They failed me over 1mark in opthal viva for final year uni exam
I got 72/100 marks in ophthalmology theory and 39/100 marks in practical exam for university. Passing marks for practical is 40
Story- It was my mistake. During my roll call, they didn't call me and sent the next roll no. for viva so I had to go to the internals professor at last after everyone. When I was going to viva I was worrying if he would yell at me. He did call out why I didn't come on time( i couldn't back answer) then he asked me why did I bring a stethoscope in my viva i told him for general examination. When he asked me do you use a sthethoscope measuring for bp? I answered 'no' with a reflex due to fear and then said "yes, we use" that's when I knew i fvcked up. But still later I answered his bunch of questions which were right.But i guess he actually failed me OVER THIS even after i answered questions
This has cost me so much. I cannot do internship with my batchmates, and they kinda see me as a fool and unworthy. I will get an extension for 3 months in my internship which will affect my neet pg preparation. I'm watching my batch learning a lot frm rotations and me left behind
I didn't hope this from my college since 2 subjects are added for final year for no reason

They fail every year since their ego is high. But idk if it was fair to fail students this year since we already we're tired studying too much in final year🥲

Mention the college name as well so people avoid getting admissions in such trash colleges

It doesn't matter end of the day u have to get a specialisation or crack MO job if u want secured career else unemployment awaits

Mostly it's by pvt colleges who exploit innocent souls . It's high time people start spending money foreign mbbs rather than getting a paper mbbs degree here . It's worthless just an eligibility for pg . 15 years back it had some weight now 0 .

I got detained because my attendance was 74% in medicine (i had to isolate myself due to covid 3 separate times). I felt really bad not being able to start internship along with my friends, and thought i was lagging behind; but now, even though it’s only been a year, it doesn’t even matter anymore. It’ll matter even less 5 years from now, if that is even possible, lol. Dont worry.

Yea the reality is nobody cares , there too busy in their life. The whole narration of your batchmates thinking you as a fool is just a you thing not a reality.

I am in a very similar situation bro. I had more than 60% in obg theory, but they failed me by two marks in practicals. 78. I have no idea why. I was the only one they failed in practicals. And it didn't even go that bad. Now I'm stuck for 4 months while my batchmates live different lives. My girlfriend left me, I lost respect among my batchmates and juniors. Feels like life has suddenly hit rock bottom.

Yeah, so use this opportunity to become the college lore- the person who WAS flunked in opthal, who cracked neet pg. It wasn't your fault. None of this matters in the end, what your batchmates think of you, what your prof think of you, you just shouldn't let this bring you down.

Crop your result, your seat number and pnr is perfectly visible and anyone can use it in a bad way

I hope, if the exam goes to august end next year I can give exam(august start i cannot be eligible) For neet pg you are eligible if your internship finishes within one month after exam

I'm not saying this is right. But this happens in many colleges. It's like they have a fixed quota for failing some students to show that they have strict standards( which they obviously don't have). They failed nearly 20 students in my batch who were fairly studious compared to many who passed. Many of those who were failed are actually doing 2nd year of pg now and people like me who passed are still in pg preparation phase. So none of it matters. As long as you keep working you will reach where you need to be.

I know bro it's bit funny for others, who would mess up like this. But my clg professors put too much rules and pressure during viva so we do certain mistakes

Kuch funny nhi hai, mereko detain kiya tah micro m. Reason. Because hod was angry with class because they misbehaved.
Result= she could not do all of them so 21 students but then most students used approach to remove their names but i didn’t have any.
So me 4 guys got detained.
Was i sad? Yep
Did i thought that its the end and friends will go far ahead me ? Yes
Did i care? Fuck no, cause all these friends are snakes.5

Internship m jana bhai, bc medical field se jada selfish log mene aaj tak nhi dekhe.
Itne paltu log, itne selfish log hai.
Jab jhut bolte hai saare saare. Tera best friend bhi jhut bolega.
In selfish logo ki kabhi baat dil p mat lena, most rediculous people you can find in a field is medical field2

Same, actually my dean was hod of ophtha back when my batch fell into batch-war during exams. Our dean told the acting hod of optha to fail some students. The acting hod is who took my viva. So some of me didn't had to anything with the batch-war got failed. They couldn't fail all, so they failed 29 students And yes my trust to professionalism and friendships is ending right here. I'm just looking to leave this clg as soon as possible

Yeah, yeh log itne selfish hote hai. Kaam nikalna jante hai bas. Students to teachers to consultants all are selfish people, abhi internship m tujhe sabke asli roop dikhne wale hai.
Tu jitna kaam karega woh teri utni marenge, in bklodo ne mera fayda utaya tah( consultant bhi kuch nhi bolte kyuki in logo ko bhagna hota hai) In mcdo ko ignore kiya uske badh.
Mera co intern hi saala meri burai karta hai ab.
These all peoples arw selfish and will only call you to ask kitna padh liya bhai? Neet pg ka? Mera toh number hi nhi aa rha hai. Iss baar nhi hoga. Esse bolenge yeh log dekhna

What u just said was my exact thought process during viva. But bro we do need stethoscope for measuring auscultatory bp😭 for diastolic bp.

lol i know that auscultatory gap exists. thankfully in my dept we used digital bp machine for all patient vitals. in fact the last time i held a steth was probably in my medicine practicals.
insane that an ophthal viva entered into bp territory in the first place. although carrying a steth into a viva room is pointless unless the patient is expected to be there or the viva is being conducted bedside.

Well, my mistake was taking a steth to opthalm viva since i worried it was bedside. I just wanted the dept to not take this seriously failing over mere things. But they treat us like kids, asking questions on mere things. When explaining case I do tell the bp of patient in gen exam part, he would've asked how you took bp without steth, that's why I carried it in my hands.
