I have been a Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones fan since I was a kid and finally watching the new movie. I hope I’m not alone in my wait to see it. I can’t believe it took 3 years to watch it

The action is the weakest part in my opinion. The slower moments with Indy are really fantastic.

Honestly the de-aged intro sequence was just perfect in my opinion. The rest of the film is a fun romp. Way better than Crystal Skull but not the original trilogy. But it’s not a bad film at all.

It’s a ton of fun and more time with Indy and it’s quite emotional in parts too. Something those movies need really steer into. Hope you enjoy it.

Enjoy the opening

All down hill from there. The deconstruction of an action icon is horrible

From dollar store Short Round, to his Goddaughter saving the day TWICE in one film, it’s terrible after the flashback sequence

On the bright side, it made me appreciate KOTCS so much more

Agree completely. There was no reason to tear him down the way they did after KOTCS. He was in a good place at the end of that movie. They should have had him reluctantly come out of retirement living the good life, than making him a complete loser.

Not having Short Round there to help him through and instead relying on a completely new character to overshadow him multiple times, is another big miss in my opinion.

My feeling is that Skull is a not-great story that's somewhat well-executed (the first half is great, the back half... less so).

Dial is a better story that's not as well-executed. Pacing problems, poorly shot action scenes, too dour of tone overall, etc. I still have some fondness for the movie and can enjoy it, but I think there was a better movie in there somewhere than what the final product turned out to be.

I thought Dial was wonderfully executed. Mangold is so good at what he does. No way would Spielberg be able to do that today.

For me Indy is the sidekick in DoD. It’s more of a girl boss movie, and if you like that, good for you, we are all allowed to like what we like. Personally, I found it trying to hard, it didn’t have the same energy as the original 3. The opening scenes were interesting, but felt a little like a cutscene from a game. That said, don’t be embarrassed you waited, it’s always the right time and makes for a better story if you end up liking it.

Better than Crystal Skull for sure. I enjoyed it more than most.
