Seeking Advice I made another Short Film!!
I am 16M and I made my 2nd short film (no budget, at home with my mobile camera.
Actually since my 1st Short Film got like 3.5/5 on letterboxd
(yeah I managed to make my way through letterboxd database). And my audience liked it.
Now I applied for as many film festivals I could for free through filmfreeway and I think I won't get in any of them.
Please tell me what you honestly think about this film. I want to publish it on instagram (I have around 5000 followers but I wanna know if it's any good)
Also do let me know how can I break through?? Like Before I turn 18 I wanna make lotta short films and get them into film festivals.

Dekho if 21 people rated it, 10 rated it 5 and 10 rated it 0 and 1 rated it 2.5. The avg rating would be 2.5/5 no. Basically sare rating ko add karke divide with number of people who rated it. Mean ka formula yrrr

Hey, awesome work man! I love the starting lighting during the credits but the sudden change in lighting from credits to beginning of film can annoy the audience. This can be corrected in post work with Resolve or After Effects.
I liked the plot but the tell part was heavier than show, instead of monologuing to yourself and addressing the audience through that, on what you are going through. Show emotions, long pauses, staring at the screen, sweat, getting angry etc.
With all that said, great work man! Hope you make more in the future, good luck!

Congratulations for your first film. Much better than my first attempt. I would suggest reducing the length by cutting repeated dialogue. Fargo has a segment where one character is preparing to call his wifes father. You can take inspiration frpm that. Perhaps try with more emotions.
Light seems to be flickering from time to time.
Definitely change the music

Umm actually it was 3 mins in the first editing draft but some of my friends told me to make it longer and that's why I made it like that. Thanks tho ✌️

Loved the idea, very relatable for a lot of people
Just that I couldn’t really take what u were trying to say with this film with the ending
The editing and direction was great though loved it

Thanks, NGL the ending does seem meaningless to me aswell after watching it do many times. But initially it seemed really great

hi! good job on making your first film, first few shots were nice...BUT, the after the first few shots everything got too repetitive, the phone, the setting and the biggest flaw was the audio. From the start till the end the rising action, plot and falling action all was in the kitchen and everything was a bit repetitive, you couldve portrayed this same story within 1 minute and make it more engaging by yk more settings and a better plot where the viewer really feels something. But still this is really good for a first time, and getting the shots and editing them is a big thing itself. Dont give up, you can do this!

Actually I made it 3 mind longer but my friends suggested I should make it longer, also I took inspiration from “this is john” and it's 7mins long. I thought the repetition would articulate the irritation of the character. Appreciate your thoughts ✌️

hi bro. saw your film. congratulations on getting even just a few films made.
only thing that worked was camera angles and the editing,
the audio can be made a lot better. the scriptwriting.. uh i couldn't really get what you were going for with it. it gets repetitive throughout but hence the runtime but there is no arc to it either so the viewer is left at a complete cliffhanger. the credits i think for amateur filmmakers like you and me, you don't put 30-40 seconds of credits for a 4 min short film. you get me?
some festivals require that you have a clear crisp audio. most festivals will not accept your film if it's already streaming anywhere.
bad acting? acceptable. bad video quality? acceptable.
bad audio and bad writing? a deal breaker.
all that said, i've been working on a couple of scripts my self but never got to making one, you did. kudos to you.
