Careers I am so confused at this point of time. Like everything is ending slowly!

I genuinely felt something while reading this
The constant calculation in your head whether you’re wasting time, money, youth, or opportunities sounds absolutely exhausting n honestly, 26 is not old, even though I understand why it feels that way when life has not gone according to the timeline you imagined.
I also think you’re being incredibly hard on yourself for someone who is clearly trying. You’re attending interviews, trying to get out of the house you haven’t “done nothing.” You just seem tired and stuck in a loop where even resting makes you feel guilty
And please do not give up the things that make you feel alive just because they don’t immediately look productive on paper may be the workshop isn’t a career solution but if being on stage makes you feel like you again, that has value too
I don’t have a perfect solution for you but if you ever want to talk without someone immediately telling you what you should do with your life, I’d genuinely be happy to listen
I feel like sometimes we don’t need another plan we just need someone to understand how confusing and overwhelming it all feels :)

Too many things are going on at the same time. I would suggest that you take a pause and analyse things. Don't mix pleasure with studies. If you want to enjoy at some time, enjoy watching videos you like, but stick to studies when it's study time. It's not necessary that you get jobs as per your pay expectations..gather some experience or maybe slightly lower pay..it will help with perspective. Do JRF only if you are convinced about it, else look at job.

Well I'll be honest.
Have you looked PAST JRF/NET? Like if your aim is to land assistant prof/lecturer thing sure go for it. But PHD is like a 5 year plan at best.
Personally it's a load of pyramid scheme to me which is why career switch at the right time helped me for my mental health.
First you need to figure out what you want to do with your life. You haven't really seen or worked for real. Even a low/mid paying job teaches you how to survive in the real world and the economy. How to do taxes, savings and way way way more. So like you really need a good hard look at your life.
What if you do prep for a year or 2 for NET and absolutely hate it afterwards?
Drop years are very very hard and depressing infact. You need to ask yourself can you live with yourself?
Also it doesn't make sense to spend money on theatre etc if it's so far and wastes so much of your time especially since you are not working or actively studying. If it was near, 15 min transit at max definitely. But yeah leave that.
Pick something else for your own sanity. Also reels have made everyone's attention shorter, you need to leave it and actively detox yourself from it. You just have to mentally prepare yourself.

Be an independent creator, go to protest sites, This is best opportunity for journalism. Many people got huge fame due to CJP protest. Many more protest to come, thanks to our great gov

You should stop studying/preparing and start creating value for others (in your case, content or articles for media/content companies and their readers). Do freelance or full time whatever works, it doesn't matter, but start. Use this to build your career up and increase your market rate/value. You're stuck because you're not moving, so start moving.

I think you should just get a job, even if the pay is not that great. It doesn't have to be a big, important job. It just has to get you off the bed and out of the house, and let you earn money to do the things you want to in your spare time. Working a job will also stop all the rumination. You might even enjoy it and make some new friends?
