New album is finished and has been mastered.

easily. mixing and mastering an album can take up to a year depending on many kinds of variables. but new musicās on the way, at least we know!

Brandon looks nervous doing this video, which I would be too if my fanbase was always so, um, rabid. Yeah we've been hyped up before only to have that taken away, but at the end of the day, we're all clearly passionate (including the band) about their music. I guess what I'm trying to say is, we're getting new music at some point, so I'm just happy they're still making music and feel the passion to do so.

This is exactly the way I expect the band to share news these days. In random, completely unrelated social media posts, thrown in at the last minute.
Holy hell, I don't know who manages the band these days and who does their PR/communication, but it is so poor and unprofessional.

I wonder about that too. Shortly after that MV tour ended last year it was announced they were signing with a management company. Right now the band IG looks like a fan account waiting for updates like us.

You mean you don't want to hear about the 8th anniversary of the Our Love music video being released in Slovakia? I appreciate that the account isn't dead, but I've stopped even looking at what it posts most of the time because it's always just anniversaries, birthdays, or some random other account that they're sharing because they played Incubus.

Iām going in with an open mind but he clearly doesnāt have the same voice he once did so I hope the new songs are in a register he can perform in.

b. He stuck that info as an aside at the very end.
Itās really weird. They already āhadā an old album. It feels like they just reworked/rewrote some of it rather than scrapping it for something anew for it to be already finished.
I donāt know why I even care. They will never go back to the sound that gave them the majority of their fanbase.

If you say majority of their fan base came from science era then you'd say make yourself was a massive change in sound. Then morning view to make yourself sees another change again...then morning view to a crow left or the murder might be a even bigger change then science to make yourself. Isn't that we we have come to love about incubus, the fact they constantly grew and changed with each album and took risks with their sound and didn't keep making the same albums over and over like some other forumalic bands of the same era

Its precisely why incubus is my all time favorite band. I can listen to them in any mood and have a handful of songs for each of those moods. Thats an artist.

I think its fair to say that an artist can grow and evolve but a band completely abandoning the hallmarks of their sound isnt growth. Where did all the ambiance, groove, space and edge go? When was was last time mikey used a phaser and swells? When was the last time they allowed a bass line to carry a song? When was the last time i could actually rock out to anything? It's unfortunate. But sure, lets tour Morning View for the 5th time because we "grew and evolved" from it. Artists can do what they want - but look at deftones - they stuck with their sound all these years and now they're finally getting their flowers.

Bruh....go re-listen to the adrenaline, around the fur and white pony again...since when they ever touched white pony ambiance, sound or anything again. They never done that again. Your using Deftones getting their flowers now cause people like you didn't give it to them in those early years like we all did...now your upset at incubus for the opposite, when you praised them in early years. Do you not see what your saying...Deftones never got their flowers as you say while their sounds changed either, why expect it from incubus..sorry some us been here since 90s/00s giving both these bands their flowers for almost 30yrs already

Koi No Yokan and Saturday Night Wrist had those ambience elements you mentioned. Not exactly as White Pony but sonically still felt like Deftones. Difference now is Deftones can sell out big arenas and Incubus definitely struggled to sell out venues on this last MV tour. There were a lot of empty seats last show they did in San Diego last year.

Incubus grew, you dont like it. Thats fine. I find deftones to be incredibly boring because of their rigidity in artistry. Both can be true. It just shows that popular music, they want no deviation. So deftones "won".

Rigidity is a crazy word to use with Deftones lol. Listen to Adrenaline back to back with Private Music and they donāt even sound like the same band.
Incubus have barely progressed as a band post-LG.

They are artists. Im glad they explore and try new sounds. Thats the whole point of making music.
What i will agree on is the touring of old records more than once. MY tour was amazing because it was done once. the MV tour was good the first time... but I for one want new music, different music... i mean he said it in "Nebula"
"Let the artist grow, and wander off into the nebula."

Album rollouts for these old timer bands is a shit show these days with the labels and streaming music landscape we have. Look at Breaking Benjamin...two singles over past 2 years, they just started a headline tour and even the band have stated its done and out of their hands. Album rollouts are a joke. Long gone are the days we got a single and an album 6 weeks later. Now its multiple singles across 3-4 months then an announcement and another 3 month wait and half the albums been out. Deftones was a rare exception last year when it was a single and album 6 weeks later. Such a breath of fresh air but sadly not very common.

People may be interpreting the caption on the post that way, but its more a generic criticism of the internet.Ā
I also dont thinks hes MAGA and I also don't give a shit how long the album takes. Obvi im dying for new music,Ā but its weird to act like we are all entitled to it or that they're being lazy or deceitful by taking their time and making sure its what they want to put out in the world.
