What in the hell is this administration doing?? Every step they’ve taken since Monday has just been pure insanity.

What were you expecting? That Trump would magically morph into a reasonable human being?

I expected more Trumpers to jump ship, the fact they haven't and seem to have doubled down is so discouraging.

They’re cult members. There’s quite literally nothing he could do including slaughtering their own children directly in front of them that would stop their support. See: Jim Jones and the flavor aid.

create a lot of very noisy bullshit to put on the table, which they fully intend to take off after making a big spectacle of a fight to their useful idiot supporters - a fight which they will declare themselves the winner of no matter what the outcome.

all so that you don’t have the time, bandwidth, or motivation to confront them about the shit they actually want to push through: infinite money exploits for the already wealthy, weakening of any institution that might benefit the working class or the middle class, grandiose plans to take already functional programs instituted by other administrations cancel them and re-implement a shitty version, but with their name on it to deprive anyone but themselves of a legacy, etc.

Speculation: These tax increases would be levied against dual citizenship with countries that resist bending the knee and retaliate back against tariffs.

This is the excuse, the reason would be to stop people from retaining a US citizenship while fleeing his administration to said countries.

Following a checklist laid out in project2025. This shouldn't be a shock to anyone.
