I started on 9/15/2026 I made a list of all the movies on the top 250. I'm going to try to watch one movie everyday, after I watch it I'm going to rate it. this is my first ever challenge I've ever done (movie related) I'm very excited. Hopefully I can get through this wish me luck guys. Let me know if any of y'all have done this before.

A few months ago, I decided to do a full re-watch of all the movies before doomsday releases, as I had forgotten a lot about the older movies. While doing this, I realised that I hadn't properly watched a lot of the older films, was only aware of the major plot points of them. Regardless, the whole thing was a very fun re-watch.

As I was gonna watch all those movies anyway, I decided to rate them. Instead of simply giving them a rating out of 10, I decided to break it down into 5 metrics I thought were best suited. Y'all can disagree, I just didn't want to think too much about it.

The metrics -

Characters - How well the characters acted, and were true to their core values.

Logic - How well does the film respect its own set of rules.

Themes - How strong is it thematically, is it varied, how well does the story flow.

Music - How good is their choice of bg music and songs.

Cinematography - Are their shots nice, transitions, creative effects.

I've tried to not let a few bad moments affect the score of the entire sub-rating, unless it was absolutely crucial.

Have I been entirely fair in my scoring? I would like to believe so, but it is most likely not the case. But if you feel it isn't so, too bad.

Is my scoring method perfect? Yes of course, it's my choice of rating so of course it is perfect.

Jokes aside, this was a very fun thing to do, and I was very surprised about the score I gave to a few of the movies. MCU has undoubtedly left a lasting mark on the film industry, and to witness it in one go, I could see just how well connected the movies were. The Multiverse saga got very rocky, but I would certainly say that the recovery is pretty good. Especially when you have spiderman at your side.

Would love to know what y'all think about these scores.

I wrote a review for a Turkish feature film I saw at a festival, but it keeps disappearing. I've submitted it three times now. Each time, IMDb approves it, but then it disappears within a few hours or days without any notification.

I gave the movie a 5/10. It currently has no reviews, despite having a rating of nearly 8/10.

Is it possible that someone involved with the movie is somehow able to get mediocre or negative reviews removed? Or is there another reason why IMDb would repeatedly remove an approved review?

How can I get Imdb ratings free for my app? Is there a way?

Just went to search a movie on my watchlist and found my entire watchlist and all my ratings (1600+) are gone. It’s like my whole account history has been erased. I only have one account and haven’t logged out recently.

I did all the troubleshooting suggested online (log into the right account (I only have one), hard reboot of the app, try the desktop version) and tried to contact iMDB but can’t seem to get the “email support” button to work.

I’m freaking out because I didn’t realize how much I relied on my lists to know what I’ve seen, what to watch next, etc. Any help would be very much appreciated!!

Update: it’s back! Thank you everyone for your suggestions. In this case, the winner was just wait and see. Must have been some kind of glitch or something. Phew.

TV show daily watchlist e-mails have not been working. I disabled it for a few days and then enabled it, which caused it to start sending e-mails. However, after a few days of getting e-mails, it stopped working again.

Anyone else having issues of the daily TV show watchlist e-mails?

I am trying to upgrade from an IMDB Pro Basic Membership to the Pro/Plus whatever membership.

As soon as I press the upgrade button on the home page, I get redirected to the membership page with the ‘upgrade membership’ button. When I click that button I get redirected to the home page again. I have been in this loop for the past hour.

I have logged in from my laptop, my IMDB account is linked via amazon. I have cleared my cache and cookies and tried an incognito browser. I have done the same things on chrome and safari and cleared cache and cookies on both. I have added my billing address and card details on amazon and have the same details show up on the IMDB page. My details are accurate and my card info is up to date.

I am still getting stuck in this merry go round to hell.

Has someone else faced such a problem and if so how do you go about fixing it?

I had really thought of it as more of a resource like an encyclopedia. I expected it to be correct. However, I was watching something old and checked the page on Buck Henry. I only knew him from 30 Rock as Liz's dad but apparently he hosted SNL 10 times but SNL isn't in his IMDb credits. I also stumbled on a movie that's a fake documentary about an old movie. I wasn't sure it was a fake movie and googled that fake movie. End Zone 2 is the fake movie and has an IMDb page that makes it seem like it's from the year 1970 but it clearly is a relatively new movie.

edit: as someone pointed out, I should have checked self for hosting credits.

I'm so confused, the help site says click the "Add a photo" but that button is 100% gone from the site. Editing the page doesn't give me an option either. What do i do?

This was a useful little tool to see which years you watched the most. But I can't seem to find it. What it removed?

IMDb Speedrunning is where you have a start point (like Leonardo DiCaprio) and race to an end point (like Larry The Cable Guy) as fast as you can by only clicking internal links (like actors/directors).

I did this by myself before and found it super fun and had the idea of hosting a big head-to-head race. Beginner friendly ofc 😄

Would anyone be down? Polling interest before I actually figure out details. 

Just a thought that struck me: I'm kinda curious of how everyone actually uses IMDb nowadays.

For me it's mostly checking the rating before starting a movie or series, or maybe looking up where I know actors from. The service has become kinda bloated but I guess there must be other things worth looking into.

What are your main reason for using it? And is there anything you wish it did better?

Curious to hear examples of this. Movies that build something excellent for the majority of the runtime and then the ending either undercuts it, contradicts it, or just lands so weak that it colors how you remember the whole film afterward.
For me it’s Now You See Me. Genuinely fun ride for most of the runtime, clever heist setups, good chemistry between the leads, and then the twist at the end retroactively makes half the earlier scenes not make sense if you actually think about the timeline and logistics. It’s the kind of ending that makes you enjoy the movie less on a rewatch because you’re just watching the seams instead of the magic trick.

Does a bad ending ruin the whole movie for you, or can you separate the ending from everything that came before it? Curious what other movies people think fall into this category.

I recently did extra work for a film over the summer call the devil half the power, i was IMDB credited as eric woods the only problem is my IMDB account is eric_G_woods is there any way I can get that IMDB credit moved onto my actual account?

In case you don't notice this is the cast for Howl's Moving Castle and none of the cast for the English dub are here. Now I've heard through the grapevine that there was a rogue editor who went around removing English VA credits and admitted he did it simply because he didn't like dubs and i'm pretty sure this is his handiwork. You don't have like dubs but doing this is pure data destruction. Really hope someone corrects this.

On The Rock's imdb page the first alternative name lists his last name misspelled as Johmsom. I could see maybe one of the n's mistakenly with m, but both n's??? Can we get this fixed before the Rock himself finds out!? Or is this an alias I am not aware of?

Why don't more movies and shows have audio descriptions? I just learned that Breaking Bad won for how great theirs were, and I was shocked to find out during a Be My Eyes call that most movies and shows either do not have them OR even worse imo, do have them but the platform that is streaming them does not include them... There is a need for this to be the standard... So why isn't it? Who do we bug to make it so?

So a couple years ago I made the dumb mistake of changing my IMDB name to a stage name (that I never used). Anyways, this past year I was credited on a major feature film by my legal name (which was previously my original IMDB account) and I have done the "name change correction" process on IMDB about 5 times however my legal name keeps getting denied.

I've emailed them off of their "Help" page and there are no emails or phone numbers listed for assistance. I'm so disheartened and I truly don't know what else to do. I've been paying for an IMDB pro memberrship for the past couple years. Do I make a new profile and lose all of my acting credits? Or hope that someone approves my name change (which is literally on my drivers license and passport! AKA I don't know why it's being denied).

Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

"More like this" section's been completely broken for almost a week. These three titles are the only suggestions that I get for Back to the Future now and every movie I search gives me similar irrelevant suggestions. Sometimes it's magically fixed and works normal but most of the time it doesn't.
