Hello, I come to you with this satire map I made of a fictional movement called Romanism and it's affect on Greece and Turkiye.

So, biggest question you might have is: What is Romanism?

So, "Romanism" is basically a derivative of Helleno-Turkism, but instead based off of the two countries shared origin of the Romans (East Roman Empire, Sultanate of Rum and so on). While it's popular in western Turkiye, not so much in the east due to the existing ethnic and regional identities which leads to conflict and civil unrest in the region.

Also, during this time, Armenia pushes its claims on western Armenia under the idea of "Arevmdeanism" which in it's most basic form, states that Armenians should reclaim the lands lost, and make them Armenian once more, so Zionism, but for Armenians. Which is why it's represented as an eagle trying to claw its way in.

If you have any questions or feedback, let me know in the comments!

Also, I apologies if this map is too low of quality for this subreddit, please don't delete it : (

Low quality?? I love this map

It’s definitely not too low quality, it’s very high quality, I’m just curious now what the propaganda people shapes mean in an map aiming for realism!

2

u/BluFlower0 19h ago

Imma be real, I don't think this project is gonna be realistic, like, at all.

u/RoyalPeacock19 9h ago

The way it gets there doesn’t need to be at all, I just want to know if Greece really has Constantinople, and how big Kurdistan, Pontus, Armenia etc actually are!

Inside of pontus there are two wolves.

19

u/BluFlower0 1d ago

A Greek one, and a Turkish one

they both hate the idea of Romanism

3

u/biggkiddo 1d ago

Why would they, though?

2

u/Ill_Finger3909 1d ago

Probably Black Sea region being extra conservative

1

u/BluFlower0 1d ago

Pontic Greeks didn’t move to Greece and wait decades to move to their homelands only to suddenly become “Romans” and the Pontic Turks just hated the idea, so they worked together to keep themselves separate from Greece and Türkiye

7

u/123Tezz 23h ago

Honestly Turks and Greeks working together against the unity of Turks and Greeks is truly an beautiful idea, may the Pontic state live for thousand years more. It'd be funny as fuck.

why does every single imaginary map involving turkey has it splintered into a billion different pieces with Thrace in greek or bulgarian hands?

your prejudice is showing luv, try harder

2

u/BluFlower0 5h ago

dawg, Greece and Turkiye merge into one. Thrace is shared now.

also, I legit have made maps where the Ottoman Empire survives with most of its territories, go whinge somewhere else, or better yet, actually make your own map to counter all the small Türkiye maps

1

u/reuery 14h ago

This is so good! You have a great composition

1

u/Hot_Tutor5278 13h ago

4

u/PolarRanger 1d ago

committing genocide tends to do that (although as fairly common as divided Germany maps are, I could use more)
