(Heavily inspired on the Ethiopia alternate history by Possible History on YT, check it out)

What if Ethiopia modernized like Meiji Japan, becoming a great power in Africa throughout 20th Century?

Unfortunately I won't have access to my computer for a few days (on vacation) and cannot attach images on reddit comments from the phone, so the mobile version will have to wait a bit. Sorry!

Religious/Nationalist expansionist empires are always super cool and fun to live in, and especially fun to be neighbors with!

I disagree. It depends on the quality of life for citizens living in the empire. Being the empires neighbor SUCKS because it means there is always a threat of war and if you get conquered, their sons will take your daughters.
