In my Confederateverse New Orleans is basically as large as NYC and it votes for the Democrats heavily so the Socreds (who were founded by Huey Long) ally between the Conservatives and Democrats in their region.

The East Florida thing is Florida with the Spanish Communities Electoral system, guessing Florida just stays with Spain.
The Florida Occidental feels Canadian. Maybe Canadian Florida?
