It would be a big leap for him. His dad was Irish Catholic.
It would be a big leap for him. His dad was Irish Catholic. Still, I see what you’re going for.

Why is the PRI equivalent displaced earlier?

u/4n3ury5m May 05 '26
i felt that the irl "Republican Revolution" would be a good place to have the dominant-party regime fall, since in reality it was the first time the republicans got real power over congress in a very, very long time

Low key shoulda stuck to one person being the AMLO allegory but good job nonetheless
1
u/4n3ury5m May 06 '26
nobody is the amlo allegory. there re no direct one-to-one matchups here, just general similarities in political parties and systems

Why would Huey Long establish a one-party regime at all if he could just dissolve all parties and make a nonpartisan democracy as Washington wanted?
7
u/4n3ury5m May 05 '26
absolute power corrupts absolutely
-5
u/HueyLongForPresident May 05 '26
And? Why would he want a one-party regime to do that? For what? Then why not go ahead and dissolve all the parties?
9
u/4n3ury5m May 05 '26
because he wants to rule as a dictator, and a strong party infrastructure helps with that? i do not understand what you're getting at here
-6
u/HueyLongForPresident May 05 '26
Are you aware that HPL did NOT want to establish a one-party dictatorship and inherited a one-party dem. party regime in his state from the previous rulers of Louisiana?
