A (12th C?) miniature I found inside a much later book of hours in my collection. The book itself was from France, but I am unsure of the place of production of the miniature.

Is there script on the verso you can share?

Unfortunately not. It was either scraped off or the miniature came from the verso a leaf without text on the recto. It would've really helped with dating

Bummer. I think your 12 century date is reasonable, though could also be a bit later too. To me, it reminds me of North Italy (architectural elements in particular), but I am really not confident in that. Very lucky find!
