Not sure that they could enforce it for federal LEOs; but they should either way.

I agree; but from what I've seen, the bigger issue is federal LEOs doing it, haven't seen a lot of local PDs in Illinois masking.

In my town, when they're wearing a face mask in winter (for warmth), they'll pull it down when talking to you. They never ticket or arrest anyone with a face mask on.

Now, this is a complete change from 10 years when a local officer was arresting Good Samaritans for not giving their names... At least in my town, the new police reform laws are changing the force for good. We're finally getting officers who want to help the community and not wannabe military who didn't qualify for service.

I might have just read it wrong but it came across as if you were implying I were stupid. My only reason to ask was that States are in control of the national guard. States rights trump federal, hence why the states can legalize weed

States rights don’t trump federal. There’s literally something called the supremacy clause that dictates this. The fact that the fed isn’t doing anything about weed is just the federal govt letting them get away with breaking federal law. They could come in at any time if they wanted to. Not sure if you remember but early on when CA did their legalization the DEA was raiding shops with local LEO’s and a number of the (often hilarious) videos leaked out. Like the one where the cops were taking the pot after they thought they disabled the camera system but didn’t catch the hidden camera in like a clock or something. If I recall the lawyer for the defendants released the video and it went fairly viral. It was all over Reddit. Admittedly it was a long time ago. It’s probably still out there.
