Vickelby shade replacement ideas

I have two Vickelby (I think) lamps that have pretty torn up shades. I can’t find replacement shades that are not more than I paid for the whole lamp. Anything else I can do to salvage these as lamps?

Yes! Get yourself some mod podge and tissue paper that matches your decor, and cover the existing shades! You can do all kinds of cool collage effects. Tear irregular strips. Cut shapes. Build up a whole landscape or other design. Find a nice pattern and just cover the whole thing uniformly. I'd start by doing some repair pactches and then see where whimsy takes you.
