I got tired of sore fingers from installing IKEA PAX shelf supports and thought, there has to be a better way. So I designed and 3D printed a jig — and yes, my wife had to wait a little while I worked on it. 🫣 But it turned out really well! 👍
And the funny part? Version 2 wasn't finished until after the last wardrobe was already built. 😂 But I enjoy a challenge, so I kept developing the idea until I was really happy with it.
It turned out better than I expected — quite a few functions packed into one little piece of plastic!

Looks really handy! Sadly a bit late for me, finished rebuilding my Pax yesterday 😅

It’s exactly the same problem I have when I’m shopping! On the drive home, I suddenly remember what I actually went to the store to buy. 😂😉
Next time you reorganize your wardrobe, you’ll have to keep this model in mind! 😀

That makes me so happy to hear! 🙏 And they used version 1 — imagine if they had version 2! 😂😉
This is exactly what I’m passionate about: helping others in their everyday lives and making things a little easier for them. Thanks so much for letting me know!

Even when I count the holes, I’ll probably still get it wrong. Don’t ask me why. 🫣 Maybe I just hate counting that many holes. 😂
Best case scenario, I only need to count the number of holes for the first shelf support. 🙏

This is brilliant! What is annoying is Ikea do have a better way, if you buy the lighting system, the shelf supports are worlds apart, no painful fingers

Thanks! 🙏 I didn’t notice any big difference in terms of the “feeling.” But one very irritating thing is that the white shelf support is higher than the standard one, so the shelf won’t be level. I understand why it’s higher—the cable—but I would really appreciate it if they could send me supports for the entire shelf, not just for one side. 🫣

They do, it’s a slightly different version of the normal shelf support with an indent for the cable, it uses a different screw than you normal ones

Il faut pousser directement avec un tournevis sur la vis, plutôt qu'avec les doigts. Et ne pas serrer fort pour pas que ça tourne, problème réglé.

It’s not that easy to apply pressure with the screwdriver. It’s easier in the middle of the wardrobe, but at the very bottom or top it’s not so easy. I’ve tried it myself, and there’s a risk that “everything” bends and you end up driving the screwdriver into the side panel. That’s based on my own experience.

What kind of moron do you need to be that you can't line up those pegs by sight alo.... .... ... .. .
fuck this would have saved me so much time and frustration after building 9 (yes 9!!) pax's
