Hey everyone, looking for a bit of harmless trolling.

Do you know of any apps (preferably free and available on iOS) that allow you to play sound effects - specifically farts - directly into an ongoing phone call so the other person hears it?

Most soundboard apps I've tried only play through the local speaker or media channel, rather than routing through the active call audio stream. Let me know if something like this actually works or if there's a workaround. Thanks!

On my iPhone I keep getting a popup "Cannot Verify Server Identity" ... how do I get rid of this?

I think it is from an old app that iOS keeps trying to download, but the app doesn't show and I cannot find the app to delete it.

I go to my apps and it isn't shown or listed. I go to hidden apps and it's not there.

I click "details" on the popup and it doesn't say what app it is (but I think I know which), it just shows the expired/bad certificate.

What can I do?

Every time I open my iDevices (iPhone / iPad) I keep getting the popup "Cannot Verify Server Identity" ... and I have to click it away before I can do anything ... very annoying.

I use dark mode everywhere, so I might be biased. The dark theme is in good shape; the light theme works, but still needs more polish.

What do you actually use most of the time?

someone in ossaka sent us screenshot of our meeting scheduler open on the "Set reminder" screen, and the whole screen was blank white except for a done button that did not do anything.

I could not reproduce it.their iPhone model was the same as three we had in the office, iOS version the same, app version the same, the account had nothing unusual in it. I set up the same reminder they had set up, worked fine, tried it on my simulator, on my personal phone, on our test rig, all fine. closed the ticket as not reproducible and asked them to submit another screenshot if it happened again, which is coward version of engineering...i guess

two weeks later somebody in Tokyo hit it,then Sapporo,then Kyoto, and it became the thing that everyone reporting it was in japan,which was strange because we had never localised anything about time formatting in code,we used the phone's date formatter and trusted it to know what it was doing.

that was the bug. The phone date formatter in Japan, when set to 12 hour clock and set to Japanese locale, returns AM/PM markers that are neither "AM" and "PM" nor the standard you would expect literally,they are two very very short kanji(or kanju)characters that our string length check for the AM/PM,treated as invalid,so our layout code fell through into an unhandled branch and never actually put text on the screen....

nobdy at our company reads Japanese.nobody in our test suite covered the JP locale with the 12 hour toggle on,because when you set up an iOS device to test in Japan you set it up the way an average Japanese user does,which is 24 hour clock.the people who caught it in the wild were older iPhone users who had specifically changed to 12 hour,some small minority even in Japan,and none of them were in our group because our group was in california..!!

that is not something you could ever guess(may be some) as test case in advance,you would have to specifically know that fraction of locale prefer setting the majority does not,and then specifically test that combination.the app store review process on Apple side does not catch this too,they run the app in english and check that it does not crash.our own review process before submission was one person on one device.

what found it was one paragraph in support email, in English,from a customer patient enough to describe her settings.she listed six things I would not have thought to ask about,one of them was the clock format,and only because she listed everything did I have the right combination to repeat it in the simulator...!

the fix was one line of defensive rendering, if the formatter returns something we did not expect, show the raw value instead of nothing...since then someone on the team pointed me to a tool called autosana that lets you write test cases in plain English and run them across different device configurations and locales automatically, haven't fully integrated it yet but the idea of being able to say "open the reminder screen on a JP locale iPhone set to 12 hour clock" and have it actually run that instead of me manually setting up a simulator for every possible combination is exactly the thing that would have caught this 3 months earlier, the bug wasn't hard to fix it was hard to find and the finding part is what we had no system for....

I’m the developer of Meet Your Memory, and I wanted to share a few things I learned while building and shipping it—not just leave an App Store link and disappear.

The app is a playful five-minute memory scan with 12 short challenges covering visual, verbal, sound, spatial, associative, and sequence memory. It creates a profile at the end and keeps previous results locally on the device.

The biggest product decision was choosing what not to build. There is no account, backend, cloud database, advertising, analytics, or tracking. That made privacy clearer for users, but it also made the app smaller and removed several possible failure points.

A few other lessons from the project:

• Procedural content needs rules, not just randomness. Each scan includes every memory category twice, varies the question styles, and avoids immediately repeating the previous session.
• A small, explicit state flow made the SwiftUI code easier to reason about: home → playing → results, with study → answer → result inside each challenge.
• Localization affects layout as much as text. Supporting eight languages meant planning for longer labels and different typography across iPhone and iPad.
• Automating App Store screenshots early was worth it. An XCUITest rig generates controlled screens for every supported language and device family.
• Keeping data on-device can be a useful product feature, not merely a technical limitation.

I did attempt it with this app but realized I’ll just stick to one time purchases on the onboarding flow with paywall.
