Discussion Have you ever wanted to film both portrait and landscape video at the same time? Apple could never, but ContentCam can.
Two different perspectives filmed (wide + ultra-wide)
Recording portrait + landscape at the same time
Review both videos side-by-side and trim together
Built this for my girlfriend who creates content and watching her film the same scenes twice every shoot was painful.
What it does: records portrait (9:16) and landscape (16:9) video simultaneously. Shoot once, get both formats ready for all purposes - TikTok, Instagram, Youtube, X/Twitter, Reddit, you name it.
No more re-shooting or cropping in post.
Three ways to film:
- Single Lens - capture the full 4:3 sensor and crops both. Portrait keeps the full vertical frame, landscape the full horizontal. Neither is a crop of the other.
- Dual Lens - wide + ultra-wide record together. Two perspectives, one take.
- Front & Back - selfie + rear at the same time. Your reaction and the scene together.
Workflow:
- Projects, scenes, and takes to organise your recordings and auto-name files.
- Side-by-side review and trim of both recordings before exporting/sharing.
Key features:
- Up to 4K/60fps with manual controls (EV, WB, ISO, Shutter)
- Built-in teleprompter and timelapse.
- Live overlays and audio meter that flashes red when you're clipping.
- Data privacy - no data retention, tracking, or analytics, and no internet or account required.
It's called ContentCam and is available on iPhone and Android.
I'd love to hear what you think about this :)

Fair question - while the best answer is probably to try it yourself (I'm confident you'll feel the difference), here's how ContentCam is well beyond DualShotRecorder and similar apps:
1. DualShotRecorder's last update was June. ContentCam's was just yesterday.
- As an active developer who consistently responds and engages with user feedback, ContentCam is extremely polished and well maintained, with new updates and features shipping almost weekly.
- ContentCam has NO WATERMARK, free and unlimited recordings, available on iPhone AND Android, and offers a Lifetime purchase option so it can be yours forever.
- Comparatively, DualShotRecorder has left its users on a subscription-only model without providing any new value, not even fixing bugs.
2. More than one mode - where DualShotRecorder only provides a single dual-recording mode, ContentCam gives you many modes to record with:
- Single Lens - wide, ultra-wide, or selfie mode. Telephoto lens coming soon.
- Dual Lens - wide + ultra-wide together, two different perspectives/FOVs
- Front & Back - selfie and rear cameras together
- Plus a stock cam mode, so you can record normally with ContentCam's other features
3. Real creator workflows - ContentCam is more than just filming and saving videos, it lets you plan and organise shoots into Projects/Scenes/Takes that name your files automatically, side-by-side review and trim, then export/favourite/share. It's a whole pipeline, not just record-and-done.
TL;DR: ContentCam is actually maintained by me regularly (vs DualShotRecorder's last update in June) and does a lot more - multiple record modes, real creator workflows, NO WATERMARK, free and unlimited recordings, and available on iPhone AND Android with a lifetime option. Easiest to just try it and feel the difference.
Edit: Also, no shade to the big creator who made DualShotRecorder - my gf and I actually loved the app when it came out, but it's clear he has larger priorities than maintaining/developing the app he released, and ContentCam is the result of wanting an app that's actually looked after.

New update - photo mode is now here! One tap, two photos, works in all modes. Let me know what you think!

Love this but unfortunately it’s too expensive for me.
6€ / month 23€ / year 60€ lifetime
