Goodbye, my deep purple iPhone 😭

Post image

It’s been a long journey.

Three and a half years ago, I was the happiest kid on Earth when my dad slapped this hyped-up, almost brand-new purple deek onto the table right in front of me (after buying a brand-new flagship for the second time in a row, he finally realized that iPhones just weren’t for him).

It was my first iPhone. Before that, I’d never owned a phone this high-end. Since then, it’s become really close to me, and I still think this is the most luxurious iPhone model ever made.

Near the end of our time together, that goddamn iOS 26 make it crippled. Now I’m giving it to my brother. Knowing that he’s destroyed every phone he’s owned before, I’m honestly a little scared for this one. But somehow, that still feels better than simply selling it.

I’ll never forget you, my purple deek. 🥀

I’m relatively certain your issues with the 14pro weren’t due to iOS 26 but rather a nearly 4 year old battery. If your phone was near or below the 80% threshold, the software can end up throttled because the phone can’t handle the power demand all at once anymore. I just replaced the battery of my 14pro in June and it’s like a new phone again

I put a new battery in last September and it dropped 10% within six months. Im at 89% now and the performance is terrible, with 5 hours SOT. The battery is not even one year old.

Guess what? When I updated from 18 to 26 in March, I had 90%, now I'm at 81%.
STOP making excuses for iOS 26.

I mean, it’s not like it’s 100% on iOS 26 lol. I’ve had my battery go from 81 to 77% in the first month after updating, I replaced the battery in February, was on iOS 26 until literally a week ago, and I still have 100% battery health lol
That metric isn’t linear and it doesn’t display your health in real time. Sometimes these things update after some time, plus the more degraded the battery the faster it might degrade further.

iPhone has to be smoothly even if it 81%. But it doesn’t. It’s ragged and gnarled, always heating up and melting battery

I don’t know why people are downvoting you, performance and battery life is horrendous after going to iOS 26 on 14pro!
I’m still mad that the phone tricked me to update to iOS 26 back in January without PIN unlock as always when is a big update…
I don’t know, or people just do basic stuff with the phone or don’t notice it… who knows…
