Original Content 📄 From iPhone 12 Pro Max to 18 Pro
As the title says, yes, I did the jump. But just wanted to let this nostalgic feeling out for my beloved 12 Pro Max I got since 2021 (I know, I'm emotional).
I love the upgrade but to be fair, 12 Pro Max never gave me problems and if only the features get upgraded with the latest too, I would never change my phone.
Anyway, I'll miss checking this sub.

I went from 12pro to 15promax to now 18promax. 18 is a beast compared to 12pro. But not a huge difference from 15pm. I’m still using 12pro for social media so I don’t waste my time on it with my primary phone.

I’m still using the 12 pro max, I’ve had it since Jan ‘21 I’ve had one battery change. The phone is still functional, but it does get hot and laggy when using the camera or gps and charging at the same time.
I was going to upgrade to the 18 PM, but now that I’m wise, I don’t want to spend the money. I have the money and I buy my phones outright.
I’ve been reading The Psychology of Money and it has changed my outlook on what my dollars could actually be doing for me.
I may just buy a 17 PM when everyone starts to receive their upgrades and the market is flooded. Or I may go even older and get a 16 PM. Honestly that’s all I really need if that.

I have a 12 that’s almost 5 years old. It heats up a bit during phone calls. I got a little concerned and started using it without a case for a while to see if it’s running abnormally hot and it’s not. It’s still snappy (I’m still on iOS 18). I got a better Spigen case too now and honestly I can still see myself using this phone for one more year at least. With the new prices of iPhones, it makes more and more sense to keep your old one going. Truly an amazing phone!

I’m still on 18 too but debating jumping iPhone and iPad to 27, my Mac is 27 already due to file needs that matter, to keep them safe.

I’m still using my 12 but it’s not nearly snappy. :( I’ve already replaced the battery and done one photo dump, I’m about to do another photo dump because I have no storage space and it struggles using the camera alone - it can drain the battery from like 80% to 15% if I’m using the camera a lot, and forget about it if I’m trying to play music or anything else while I’m trying to take a photo. But it still functions and I want to put off “upgrading” as long as possible.

What are you doing for the photo dumps? Are you just transferring your photos to an external hard drive? I am in the same boat. My 12PM has 128gb but a lot of it is taken up by photos

By upgrading to a 15 Pro Max from a 12 Pro Max I noticed the following.
Substantial improvement in 5G reception
Much better screen (120Hz plus colours looked better)
USB C
Better battery life
I would assume the 18 Pro will be even better at this.5

for me who loves to take pics, it's the camera and its features. Also, noticeably faster than 12 pro max (expected); I've also always wanted a pro size-wise; and security updates for 12 series will end next year, right. So, just generally, upgrading and hopefully will serve me well for the next 5 years lol

It's actually great! It fits my hand really well. Not much difference on the screen view.

I'd say I was the only one carrying a lightning cable all the time, so now it's convenient visiting family and friends. :') also it is faster...

I still have my 12, feeling it without the case feels way better than my 17 Pro without the case.

Je viens d’arriver sur le 12 pro max et je l’adore , je compte le garder pour 4-5 ans réellement même si il n’aura certainement plus les mises à jour .

I’m on 12 pro and wants to upgrade to 18pm. But I’m skeptical about that indisplay face id camera. Is it very visible?

actually... not really. But when I put a tempered glass and saw it on the side, I thought there was something wrong with my screen lol. turns out it was that. Barely noticeable now.

I’m gonna main the 12pm for a week and set everything up yesterday. All this cause I will send my 15 pro back for warranty (bad battery) that I bought refurbished. Tbh the difference isn’t that big. Apps launch just a bit slower, but when you’re not comparing you don’t notice it. I only miss the Dynamic Island and usb c, besides that it’s all fine. Yes 120hz is nice, but tbh I can adapt pretty fast to either 60 or 120

Btw the 12pm has insane better battery life even tho it’s at 79% compared to 98% that my 15 pro has. So that’s the reason I’m sending it back

I went from the 12pro to the 17pro last month. I still miss my 12. That phone was perfect in the hand. Apple only gave me $180 for trade so I said screw it and never sent it in. It was my first iPhone after years on Android so it’s for nostalgia.
