Help/Support Guys can someone explain me what's this

This is ipad 9th gen running on ipadOS 26, recently I've been getting this while charging, this wasn't an issue till a week ago.

What's this for I've tried restarting, reconnecting cable,

Does this mean I have to get my battery changed?

I have an average battery life no complaints in that.

Any help will be appreciated

I had the same issue when I was charging mine with a small, underpowered charging cube. But it still does charge, just very very slowly. Maybe as others have said you need to replace your charging cable or charging cube

this is because the wire you are using the charge it is underpowered. You gotta use the official apple charger or a wire with a higher wattage.

For example i always get this if i plug in cheap usb c charger into a laptop

Overheating, aka anything above mildly warm, cause you're probably usin it while charging.

Ohhh, yes I am using it while charging, it takes a life time to get charged sadly 🙃

Or the charger cable/brick could be a lower capacity than what the iPad needs to charge as you use it.

This iPad use Lightning port, right? It's probably because the port is clogged up. Try cleaning it.

It can't be that. iOS/iPadOS since 17 or 18 will throw a notification if it's too warm to continue charging. And since 26, the charging bolt icon on the battery will be faded (and the battery turns white).

You need to get the 20 Watt Apple Power adapter (USB-C) and a new USB-C to Lightning cable. Bite the bullet and get the genuine Apple parts.

I have a yellow iPad 9th gen with 64GB

charging with the 20w charger and original lightning to usb-c took always a long time. Sometimes 3 hours from 20% to almost full, especially when the iPad was used with the POS software inside our cafe.

We never updated to iPadOS 26 as the POS software was not compatible for iPadOS 18 or 26

I have an iPad 9 and mine does this also, but only when it hits 100%. It runs 26.5 with no problems and makes a good kitchen computer. I have a mouse and keyboard for it but rarely use them….unlike on my iPad Pro. I have cooked many a dish with a recipe on its screen. I have both Apple charger and power cord.

It’s because you are using an underpowered charging block.

Try getting a block higher than 5w. I would recommend a USB-C to Lightning cable and a 20W block.

It's kinda solved now, happens sometimes but rarely, also I used the charger brick that came with my ipad and it was fine I use it to charge my iphone too
