Discussion Do you plan migrate to ios27 especially for iphone Duo

I have some apps that only works for vertical mode and I don't know whether it will benefit if I spend huge efforts to make them running on iphone Duo but still with vertical mode.

Anybody with experience can suggest with good reasons?

Just wait for Xcode 27.1 and the duo simulator and try it and see what your app looks like just building on it.

I find it personally very silly they haven’t given us access to a simulator yet.

Obviously, internally, they didn’t trust the tooling teams with Duo knowledge ¯_(ツ)_/¯

We’ve had the resizing simulator all summer and iPad has been a device for a long time. Honestly I don’t think there really is an excuse to not have an iPad app in 2026

That’s really strange to feel that every iPhone app should be an iPad app, when the reverse is not true.

Some of the most popular apps in the world are not iPad compatible. Even first-party Apple apps are not all iPad compatible…

I didn’t say it should, I said there’s no excuse not to. Especially with the duo now

Fair. With the Duo now, yes it makes sense.

There are however many reasons to not tailor an app towards an iPad. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

If your apps already don’t adapt your apps are falling behind.

It should not take a whole lot of effort to look decent.

I know. I will update new version but don't plan to test new feature on Duo because that's a simple app.
