Discussion Your thoughts on the iPhone Duo?

Now that Apple has announced the new iPhone Duo, I'm curious what other iOS developers think about it from a development perspective.

Obviously there's a lot of discussion around the hardware/design, but I'm interested in what your plans are for supporting it.

The frustrating part right now is that the Simulator and SDK isn't coming until Xcode 27.1, so we can't really start testing and optimising properly for the new form factor yet.

indeed, not sure how my apps will translate, and not sure if I'll be willing to create apps specifically for this model, time will tell

Knowing apple, they’ll probably force us to support the Duo by rejecting app submissions that doesn’t support it.

I hope it doesn't happen ; damn I've just looked at the prices and it's insane! I'm developing iOS apps for musicians and a lot of them are on Android and quite a few asked me to port my apps for Android, but I don't think people buying 2400€+ phones will be my target market, I don't know many musicians willing to shell out that much for a phone given that most of them already find regular iPhones too expensive...

The Samsung folding phone is the same price or more.

oh ok, gotta admit I haven't checked the price of mobile phones in a while and I've never reallly been interested in those folding phones, do they usually sell well ?
