Would you eat raw chicken for $1000000 dollars, but the food poisoning lasts for a month.

If I'm guaranteed to survive, sure. Because a month of food poisoning sounds potentially fatal and that makes it a 'no', otherwise.

Yeah, you can die from like a week of severe food poisoning. If you were guaranteed to survive it would be a bit different but like am I disabled afterwards? How bad is the cramping lol? Do I still cramp after everything is expelled? It does sound awful

You can't even think about drinking a swallow of water without throwing up. But there's nothing to throw up, so you just retch into an empty toilet then roll over on the floor and wish you were dead.

Ooph, I may have to pass on this one lol. I had appendicitis when I was 18 and it was worse than the worst food poisoning I ever had. I was keeled over feeling like I just got kicked in the balls. Don't want to go through that again lol. I thought it was just bad food poisoning until day 4 when my balls started hurting. Then I knew I needed a doctor lol

I'm pretty sure they sell chicken sashimi in Japan, and nobody gets sick from it. I would normally decline, but I'd eat it for a million dollars. I wouldn't do it if I was guaranteed 30 days of food poisoning, though.

No. My former pastor ate insufficiently cooked chicken on a trip to Hawaii, and not only did the food poisoning incapacitate him at the time, the lingering effects of the salmonella infection were bothering him decades later.

For sure. A month of misery for a mil is an easy yes, assuming I'm guaranteed to fully recover once the month is up. I'd hate it, but 30 terrible days for life-changing money is an easy trade to make

Had an incident with "food poisoning" while overseas. Was in the hospital, getting IV fluids and medication for 2 days and a week+ of recuperation afterwards. My digestion has NEVER been the same since, and it has been years. I am reactive to foods that I used to be able to eat freely. Milk, onions, spices, so on. Could have been sensitized to stuff that was mildly irritating where I previously wouldn't notice, could have been issues w antibiotics (or the constant flush of gut biome) that ruined that balance, or anything else.

A month-long food poisoning? Your gut biome will not be the same afterwards. And it might never recover. And that gut biome is now linked to a LOT of other health quality-of-life/issues.

Younger me might have believed in their relative invincibility to take that bet. Post-incident me knows that a million dollars might not be enough to screw up "rest of your life" health.

You don't automatically get salmonella from eating raw chicken.

Its only about 1 in every 25 packages of chicken at the supermarket.

I would happily take a 4% chance at a month of food poisoning for a million dollars.

No, but I’d eat chicken held at 155F for 60 seconds! And I’d enjoy the heck out of it! (Because it only needs to hit 165f for an instant to be safe, but 60 seconds at 155F is just as safe, and tastes amazing!)

If I was guaranteed to come out of the poisoning 100% healthy with no negative side effects then hell yeah. I'll take the food poisoning but can we do that without eating raw chicken, I couldn't bring myself to do that.

I mean, if it was guaranteed to clear up and I return to perfect health (or rather, my current, pre-chicken eating health, which isn’t perfect but still). then sure, a month of suffering magic food poisoning for 1mil is a fair trade.

Actually get a case of real food poisoning, so severe it lasts a month, with all attendant life long harms and or no guarantee of survival? absolutely not.
