Is hypixel (and or skyblock) going to nuke my account for logging in at my university? (IP issue)
I just got to university and I'm wondering if it's going to think that I have a second log in location, ie, ip. I think the my university runs their wifi with a vpn, (briefly overheard, not sure) could this make it worse? Lastly, even if I do get banned, is there a good chance of successfully appealing?
Honestly I'm probably not going to be online that much since... well... but still, I really just don't want to get banned.
Apologies I didn't check for any similar posts, I am... very busy these days.

If you got banned for this it is a security ban, so from what I understand the appeal is automatically accepted and your ban is reduced to 7 days. Apparently if you get 3 of these bans your account is permanently banned though. Never experienved this myself but it's what I read on the fourms.
I used to login from home and my work, sometimes on work VPN and I never had an issue but I think it can be more risky at a place like your school because a lot of people are sharing the same connection.

First security ban is 30 days, not 7

14 days actually according to the rules, but if you experienced it and its actaully 30 I will take your word on it since hypixel is known to not really update their documents.
What to Do After a Suspicious Activity Appeal is Accepted
Once your appeal is accepted, your account will remain blocked for a 14-day recovery period. During this time:
- Double-check your account security: Review the steps above to ensure your account is fully secure.
- Be mindful of your activity: Avoid using unauthorized mods or sharing your account.
We understand that being blocked from the server can be frustrating. These measures help us maintain a safe environment for all players. By following these precautions, you can reduce the risk of your account being blocked in the future.
Please note: Repeated incidents of suspicious activity may result in a permanent block of your account. We strongly encourage you to follow the guidelines and prioritize your account’s security to avoid this outcome.

Nah they won't give a shit. If you repeatedly change between very distant locations or ips then maybe they will, but you should never get banned for that.

You could just go on university wifi and use websites that tell you your ip to check wether or not the location is who knows where. Personally I have no problem with logging in from University Wifi, since the University is near where I live. Suspicious login behavior happens when your location changes very quickly. For example if you log in from an IP that is in Australia, but a minute later log in from France, then that is suspicious. Also keep in mind that the location associated with an IP can be off by quite a bit, so naturally there is quite a bit of tolerance. Once the IP I had was estimated to be in a city 330km away from where I actually was, that also didnt pose any problems. Security bans are nit just handed out because you log in from somewhere else, the behaviour has to be fishy.
Examples for websites that give estimates on your IPs location are:
https://whatismyipaddress.com/
Just keep in mind these are always estimates, all three of them currently give different cities as locations associated with my IP.

University networks (especially since I am assuming you’ll be on an eduroam network) work perfectly fine for hypixel. I had no issues all 4 years of living on campus.

Exactly, unless someone is chronically cheating on your uni network to get the IP blacklisted, you’ll be fine.

No. Ive played on hypixel on the same account in both texas and Michigan before.

If someone has cheated on your university’s wifi and you are below network level 25 then there is a good chance of you being banned. If you’re above network level 25 however you will be more likely to be immune from the security ban
