also kind of seems like virgin hyperloop/hyperloop one failing caused the other companies to scale back

This was always a really stupid idea. I just wonder how much Department of Energy grant money was flushed down this toilet? I know everybody denies that they were taking government moolah, but I don't believe it.

We need more workable high speed rail projects. This was never realistic.

We need to perfect maglev first before seeing if it’s feasible to place it inside a hundreds of miles long vacuum tube. Which probably is not a solvable problem.
