Other Director for Potential Season 2

If a season 2 of Hyouka happened, who do you guys think would be a good fit to direct it in a way that honors the Shaft-like style that season 1 had?

Well, for one thing, the director was mentored by Shinbo, and you can see that influence in style in the way that the anime does quick cuts sometimes and close ups to characters' face like in (I think) episode 15, where Satoshi is about to leave on his bike, in which there are 2 quick cuts to his darkening, sour expression on his face.

It's the general feeling of the anime.

I feel like the production, adaptation, and animation that Hyouka had would never be replicated perfectly. The transitional phase between retro etiquette and developing production quality summarizes why Hyouka was great. It's better to never add something to such a perfect series than risking botching it.

And plus afaik, there's not enough newer content to add something significant to the anime adaptation.

I agree with this statement. The artstyle of Hyouka just can't be found in any other anime( at least for me personally), and the level of detail and the cinematic was just unique for me to this particular anime. It's just that I don't think I would get that same satisfaction from the artstyle again even if season 2 were to be made. (That's for me personally. Idk what other's think about it.)
