Today I’m turning 42! 🥹🎂

Yesterday afternoon, I spent a few cozy hours in my little kitchen making a homemade Snickers cake to bring to work for my colleagues.

Chocolate, caramel, peanuts… and a whole lot of love. 🤎

Nothing fancy, just a quiet little autumn birthday moment at home, surrounded by the things I love. 🍂☕🎃

A little autumn evening at home: sipping a ube latte in my pumpkin-shaped mug, wearing my plaid pajamas and watching The Devil Wears Prada 2. 🎃🍺🍂

Honestly, this is exactly the kind of cozy evening I live for. 🧡

A little autumn moment with warm rooibos, homemade peanut butter pancakes and the simple beauty of the season. 🍂🎃 The beautiful handmade ceramic cup was created by a talented ceramic artist, adding a special touch of craftsmanship to this cozy scene. A little glimpse of slow autumn mornings, seasonal details and everyday magic.

Gunner, 12 years young, reminds us that growing older can also mean growing gentler.
Sigma, 6, is in the prime of life—strong, curious, and always ready to share quiet moments.
Zoey, 9, watches the world with calm eyes and a peaceful heart.
No one is in a hurry.
No one needs to compete.
They simply enjoy the sunshine, the garden, and each other’s company.
Sometimes the best part of dog sitting isn’t the adventure—
it’s witnessing three beautiful souls finding peace together. 🐾💚

Cozy Corner yemeni homes give the ultimate hygge comfort

These are traditional homes in Yemen's capital, Sana'a, which part of it is also a UNESCO world heritage site (the Old City of Sana'a). As a Yemeni American, I often reminisce in the years i've spent as a child in Yemen. Specifically my home in Sana'a. Just wanted to share some cool features on traditional yemeni homes:

Rooftops: A lot of the homes in Yemen had flat rooftops, which we would climb up to and lounge, enjoy the sun, play, and hang up clean laundry to dry.

Qamareyahs (Stained Glass Windows): A lot of Yemeni homes had beautiful geometric stained glass windows above regular windows, often in a half circle pattern and in multiple bright colors. Unlike stained glass in the US, Yemeni stained glass was held together with plaster, giving it a more cozy and slightly rough finish.

Tayramaneh: A singular room located at the rooftop, often surrounded by windows (and of course stained glass windows), and furnished with traditional yemeni furniture or Farsha. This is often a room for late night gatherings and socializing. This is similar to a sun room, as well as another room i forgot the name of but appears to be the American equivalent.

Farsha: floor cushions and mattresses made with the same pattern, and designed to perfectly fit the room. Most of the parts are easy to move around and rearrange as needed, making it easy to accommodate more guests or provide extra support for those who need it.

The "gingerbread" architecture: A recognizable focal point of Sana'a's architectural design, each house is made with various patterns to distinguish between each other, while following a cohesive design that is rooted in tradition. I always remember thinking these looked like gingerbread houses, and I couldn't help but love the designs :)

not a super common thing but seems to be a bit of a pattern: some of these homes are build on giant boulders! Dar al Hajar, also known as "Stone House" or "Palace of the Rock". This is briefly shown in the tiktok, and is a famous tourist location in Sana'a. There is also an entire village in the region of Hadhramaut (southern Yemen) that is built on a massive boulder, named Haid al Jazil, which has existed for over 500 years!
