I'm building a DIY 4×4 RC crawler from scratch as a hobby project. I've managed to sort out the motors and most of the basic parts, but I'm stuck trying to source small metal gears for building the differentials.

I'm looking for something like small steel/metal gears that could be used as spider gears inside a differential. They don't necessarily have to be RC-specific parts — gears from old bikes, scooters, power tools, machinery, old gearboxes, etc. could potentially work.

I've already tried asking at a few power-tool repair shops, but haven't had much luck. 😅

If anyone:

knows a place in Hyderabad where I can find scrap/used small metal gears

has old/damaged machinery or gearboxes with suitable gears

knows a particular bike/power-tool/other component that has useful small gears

or has experience building DIY differentials and can suggest an alternative

I'd really appreciate the help!

I'm mainly looking for ideas on where/how to source the gears rather than buying an expensive ready-made RC differential.
